By The Power of Grayskull, You Have The Castle! The biggest deal (and indeed, biggest item) on display in Mattel's Matty event was Castle Grayskull, a reimagined, upsized modern collectible based on the 1982 toy. Two of the Four Horsemen team were on hand to confirm the prototype was build in about 2 1/2-weeks and painted in about 10 hours. That's pretty amazing to say the least, and pre-orders for the castle will re-open shortly after this article goes live - at a higher price, around $275. Scott "ToyGuru" Neitlich confirmed it might be even higher - $300? - if any units are available when the playset is released in November or December 2013.
Many new parts and pieces are being created for this very large playset, including a figure-sized suit of armor, a couple of weapons, a throne for the Sorceress, and some other goodies. Of note, the armor is not an articulated action figure but is a light, hollow (most likely) plastic slug figure. So it'll look cool, but isn't an actual poseable toy.

The other NEW news to most was the confirmation of another accessory pack, which will include Rattlor's armor which was costed out of the 2012 action figure. Other accessories were not confirmed, but this is certainly good news. Other figures on display were leaked a few days ago and include Icer, Mantenna, Batros, Castaspella, and Shokoti.
The next big piece of news was a Filmation Subscription with 6 new figures, like the 30th Anniversary action figures last year. It's an add-on to the existing subscription and looks pretty dang good so far. This subscription campaign kicks off, quite possibly, on or around this week.
