The Hot Potato! For whatever reason Care Bears is one of those toy licenses that jump from one toy company to another. When I was a kid, Kenner had them. Play Along had them a few years ago. Now it's in Hasbro's hands, with plush and PVCs and other figures to buy.

I think the blind-packaged mini-figures were easily the most interesting item on display, were I allowed to say I thought these were interesting, which I'm pretty sure as an adult male I'm not allowed to do. I was told the DVDs packaged with the plush toys would be refreshed throughout the year, too. I didn't see any action figures on display just yet, but hey, who knows what we'll see later between now and when American Greetings takes Care Bears to, oh let's say Bridge Direct next?
For a line of characters created to sell greeting cards in 1981, it's quite remarkable that these bears and Strawberry Shortcake have proven to have such a long life in the marketplace.
