Maybe there is a little Godzilla in all of us! For a mind-boggling five-plus decades, Godzilla has managed to capture the entire planet's imagination as arguably the one true king of the monsters. Being able to smash buildings, breathe radioactive blasts, and fight giant lobsters, this is clearly the monster men want to be and women want to be with. It's true. Don't deny it.

A gorgeous prototype for a vinyl King Caesar displayed black painted lines and a gorgeous sculpt, not entirely dissimilar from what BanDai has been doing with its equally impressive Ben 10 vinyl toys. One of my favorite items was a translucent orange Burning Godzilla vinyl figure. Sure, it's just a repaint, but it really sizzles in person with that bright orange. A clear grey glittery Godzilla was shown, plus one of the Mothra figures had exquisite metallic blue paint on it.
In addition to continuing its vinyl line with Ghidorah and (why?) Minya, a beautiful boxed set of super-deformed figures will likely be the set to chase down this year. Gigan, Mechagodzilla, Godzilla, Gigan, Mothra, and Destroyah are all included in one big boxed set. BanDai has produced similar sets for other licenses, but this one is special. Because Mothra. Each figure is a couple of inches high, so it isn't too big. Really, it's sized perfectly for the lot of them to perch atop your computer's monitor(s).
