The Biggest Heroes! Toymaker NECA has carved out a neat niche with 1:4 scale figures over the years, although they've made a transition from being mostly statues to real articulated figures over the last couple of years. Their big get this year is Batman, and the 18-inch tall caped crusader will be sold in both Adam West and Michael Keaton varieties so far. It's hard not to be impressed.

On the Marvel front, there's Captain America and Iron Man from the Avengers movie. They look pretty great up-close, particularly Iron Man. Each figure sells for about $100. Based on size alone, it's probably worth it.
