I love a good gimmick toy, and HW-4-TRAC boasted it was better on track - hence the name. I bought some cheap orange track at Dollar Tree as well as that crazy six-lane thing, and it was fine. I wouldn't say it was a top performer in terms of speed or loops or other things, but it looked neat.

This particular version was the debut, and it popped nicely with some orange in a black chassis with a white painted metal base. It rolled well, and had some 55th anniversary livery. I like the little orange not-quite-a-driver helmet popping out of the seat, so if nothing else it's a nifty anniversary release.

The packaging boasts "wings and winglets [that] generate a superior downforce while accelerating through loops and banked curves." I didn't find that to be the case, but I haven't built some sort of test system. If anyone out there has such a thing, I would love to see it and bring over some cars.

I got this one at a grocery store - it may well still be on a peg or in a bin near you. It's pretty cheap on the secondary market, so if you want one you can probably afford it. While I've picked up random cars where I go "wow, amazing!" or "hilarious!" or "it does something cool!" I'd say this one is squarely in the middle. It rolls and looks like a nice car, but I didn't find it to bring me a surplus of whimsy, stability, or much else. But I like bright orange things, so this one works for me.
