A glow-in-the-dark dune buggy? Sure! Lightnin' Bug started out right with a clear chassis over another glow piece which also extends to the exterior. They're on top of a yellow base with clear colorless wheels with painted yellow detail. On top of the chassis it says X 45. Why? Heck if I know.

This car is still on the market in other colors that aren't glow. Right now, you can get a clear green one in a 5-pack if you're fortunate... but maybe you should just dig through bins at the grocery store and get this glow one. It's much cooler.

Clear plastic and glow plastic have a habit of absorbing a lot of the sculptde detail. Just looking at this car with the naked eye, you're not going to notice much beyond basic shapes and the painted detail on the top. It's hard to see the engine in the glow plastic part, or the girdler-like design over the door. You might not notice the round headlights, or the sculpted bumper. The interior has what appears to be perfectly nice seats, a steering wheel, and a decent console.

Since it has a rather nice size piece of glow plastic, it glows pretty well. It reacts nicely to the UV light I had. Unfortunately, the UV charge (via CFL or LED) fades quickly, so good luck keeping the party going. BUT HOW ABOUT SUNLIGHT?

If you're collecting glow-in-the-dark Hot Wheels - and at $1.25, why not, really - this is on par with most of the other ones. It's not amazingly bright and won't go all night. There's not a lot of amazing detail. But I do like the round headlights, and the rally marks are pretty cool. If they ever do this mold in glow again, I'd love to know if some of the parts can be a shiny metal finish as vac metal plus glow plastic tend to look really sharp. I'd recommend it, but I wouldn't necessarily overpay for it. If you can get it delivered for under five bucks, it's not like you've got enough glow toys yet.
