Hasbro and Hunter PR joined forces to let us ask questions. Here are two of them.
Question #1 (resubmitted due to unsatisfactory answer)
Star Wars has a "greatest hits" Saga Legends line which keeps some toys (and characters) constantly in rotation. Will we ever see something like this for Transformers? For example, Sideswipe from the 2008 Transformers Universe line is a great mold, and it seemed to sell well, but the secondary market is slowing driving up his price. There are no Beast Wars toys in circulation, and presumably there must be dozens of top-notch deluxe-class molds still in working order in your factories. With HUB airing older Transformers programming, can we expect a modern equivalent of the late-1990s Beast Wars "Fox Kids" assortments to keep existing toys of older characters on-shelf for the kids and the new fans?
There are no current plans to release any previous Beast Wars figures in the near future. As for creating a "Saga Line" for Transformers, we of course are always open to great ideas, but at the same time we need to make sure that what we are doing lines that match the priorities of the brand.
Note: It's like Will Ferrel in that one movie, you gotta keep asking.
Question #2
Are there any retail exclusives on deck before Toy Fair 2010 2011? Specifically, are there any "classic"-inspired exclusives on deck before the big new Transformers movie takes over the line presumably in or around April?
We are going to guess that you meant Toy Fair 2011 since Toy Fair 2010 has already come and gone. With that said, we have already announced all of the exclusives that are planned for 2010, but we feel that there will be plenty of great heritage characters released in the upcoming 2011 pre-movie toy line.
