Review: Garden State Kaiju Space Beasts Mudbelly "Wild Type" Soft Vinyl Figure
Something new every day-- unless it's old! Our exciting Figure of the Day continues for you lucky people! Is there anything we won't cover in this column? Probably not!
Via Flickr (thanks Phil!): Shogi's Toy Catalog Scans. It's an impressive account with old Kenner Star Wars booklets, Transformers catalogs, and other things you may have also kept in a box with your old LEGO instructions. It's worth a look for the lost pack-in pamphlets, which I don't believe tend to exist for any of the action toy brands I buy anymore.
"Starting next year, new 'Microverse: The Original Marvel Years' Omnibus collections will reprint the entire comics run of 'Micronauts' for the first time ever! Plus, a brand-new Facsimile Edition of 'Micronauts' #1 on sale in September!"
Does this mean toys? Not that I know of. What about that movie we've heard teased a few times? Nope. I assume Hasbro just looked at its IP and freely licensed out stuff where there's built-in demand and pre-approved product like this - it's something I never got to read, but I'm looking forward to checking it out.
Star Trek: Strange New Worlds Season 1 Free on YouTube
I generally have little reason to link to corporate stuff on YouTube, but I'll make an exception for this one. Paramount Plus put the first 10 episodes of Star Trek: Strange New Worlds, in full, on YouTube ahead of the season two premiere. It's probably the trekkiest of the new Trek shows - more variety, more light and color, better audio mixes, and it's a lot like the old stuff made with modern sensibilities. There are cool aliens, the cast is fun, I'd recommend checking it out since you probably have some time to kill if you're reading this. I mean, just for the M'hanit weirdness, it's worth it.
Some figures of Pike and Spock (supposedly from Discovery) were shown in a Playmates toy fair booth overseas earlier this year, but I do not have high hopes they will see production soon. Not enough people are watching these shows to get that 1990s-style critical mass that resulted in some of those figures being run over 200,000 units. (My Rikers have some pretty high numbers. There were some big giant runs there.)
Star Wars Review: Mon Mothma (Senator, The Black Series)
Via the Star Wars Galactic Hunter Figure of the Day Blog: Mon Mothma (Senator, The Black Series). She has no accessories, but is a pretty decent looking figure who, in my findings, didn't stand so good. But she's the secret star of Andor, so you might want to grab one. Read the whole review.
Review: Onell Design Glyos Armorvor Arthrodak Dark Nebula Action Figure
Something new every day-- unless it's old! Our exciting Figure of the Day continues for you lucky people! Is there anything we won't cover in this column? Probably not!
Purple and cool! The Onell Design Glyos Armorvor Arthrodak Dark Nebula Action Figure kicked off this head design, which has a jointed jaw and some amazing sculpting work. I don't think they've sold this one in a while, so I hope you got one back in 2019 because I have no idea when you'll get this fishy freak again. Do read on, and come back tomorrow for more fun!
Via Target: Transformers Beast Alliance Predacon Scorponok and Sandspear Action Figure Set - 2pk. I found one in store last night, so you might too - it's about 5-inches tall with a big accessory, and given inflation is a decent item for the price. It has no action gimmicks, but otherwise compares pretty favorable to 1990s Beast Wars deluxe toys.
This week's batch of titles on the eShop: Arcade Archives ROLLING THUNDER 2, Loop8: Summer of Gods, Etrian Odyssey Origins Collection, and over a dozen more.
Review: Hasbro Marvel Legends 375 Phoenix and Wolverine Action Figures
Something new every day-- unless it's old! Our exciting Figure of the Day continues for you lucky people! Is there anything we won't cover in this column? Probably not!
Exclusive and probably sold out! This Hasbro Marvel Legends 375 Phoenix and Wolverine Action Figures gets you versions of the characters as you probably remember them, on shiny cardbacks. Wolverine got rereleased as a single figure in stores now, but Phoenix is unique to this set. Read on, and come back tomorrow for more fun!

Review: Super7 Transformers Hot Rod ReAction Figure
Something new every day-- unless it's old! Our exciting Figure of the Day continues for you lucky people! Is there anything we won't cover in this column? Probably not!
New and good! The Super7 Transformers Hot Rod ReAction Figure isn't cheap, but at $25 it's a fun motorcycle - and how often do we get those? You can tear him apart and he looks cool. That's almost all I can ask for these days. Read on, and come back tomorrow for more fun!
Via Hasbro Pulse: G.I. Joe Classified Series G.I. Joe Assault Copter Dragonfly (XH-1). Early in the morning it was already halfway funded, nearly 75% funded by the end of the work day on the west coast, and a hair over 87.6% as I write this update shortly before midnight last night. So it's going to do just fine when it comes out in 2024. They write:
"This crowdfunded project will run from 11:00AM ET on June 5th, 2023, to 11:59PM ET on July 17th. If successful, the project is expected to begin shipping in Summer 2024."
Wild Bill is included and up to three "stretch goal" figures are on deck if it sells 19,000 units. First up is Night Force Rip Cord at 13,000 backers.
Star Wars Review: See-Threepio (C-3PO, The Retro Collection)
Via the Star Wars Galactic Hunter Figure of the Day Blog: See-Threepio (C-3PO, The Retro Collection). While some of the retro figures - while good - lack some details or seem a little soft in spots, C-3PO seems to be extremely close to the original, even more so than some of the third-party remakes. The details around his bolts and belly are all there, and while it's not 100% identical to the 1978 figure it's certainly close enough. He even has the metal bolt in his back - go ask your magnets to prove it for you. You should get this one. Read the whole review.
Review: Mattel Jurassic World Mosasaurus Action Figure
Something new every day-- unless it's old! Our exciting Figure of the Day continues for you lucky people! Is there anything we won't cover in this column? Probably not!
Old! But similar toys are still on the market. Mattel Jurassic World Mosasaurus Action Figure was sold by itself, in gift sets, and later got redesigned with water-bound plastic, and given a DNA tab, and other little changes. This is the first one from 2018 which sat in my photo studio until a couple of weeks ago. Do read on, and come back tomorrow for more fun!
Via the Glyos News Dump: New Cappy Space Drop Friday, June 9 with Bat? Ogre? Who Knows? I'm not sure what all is going to be released, but it looks neat. I don't know how big it is, but I see there are two preview shots on Instagram so far and it's coming up Friday at 9:00 PM Eastern. Is this the Trickster and the Tidal? I have no idea, but it would make sense.
Muppets - Free Tribute Collection Download on Bandcamp
Via Heirloom Records on Bandcamp: The Henson Stitch is a 50-song collection of covers of Muppets/Fraggles/Sesame Street songs from 2012. I found it while trying to see if "Love Ya to Death" from The Muppet Show "Sex and Violence" got a release somewhere, and this came up. You probably won't know all of the bands but I was pleased to see Diners and Treasure Mammal, and others I will have to check out.
Via the Star Wars Galactic Hunter Figure of the Day Blog: Moff Gideon (Mission Fleet). Sure, it's a toy, and yes, it's on clearance, but Hasbro did a really great job here. The face sculpt and deco are good, the TIE Fighter is genuinely impressive, and if this were a 3 3/4-inch scaled vehicle with a realistically proportioned figure you'd be all over it. But it wasn't - so you might find one at Burlington on clearance for a few bucks, and it's absolutely worth it. Read the whole review.
Something new every day-- unless it's old! Our exciting Figure of the Day continues for you lucky people! Is there anything we won't cover in this column? Probably not!
Blue and, apparently, old! The Onell Design Glyos Gendrone Legion Phaseon Action Figure came out 11 years ago and was a mere $6.00 for a painted figure with panel lines. Can you imagine? It was one of the last Phaseons to have that feature, and it still looks sharp. Do read on, and come back tomorrow for more fun!
Via The Outer Space Men news blog: The Outer Space Men Bluestar Astrodite Now Available. It's labeled 2022, and was probably manufactured last year, but it's just going up this week. $15 is an incredibly fair price for a 3 3/4-inch indie figure these days, and while I haven't ordered her yet I'd recommend her to anyone who wants blue glow or doesn't have an Astrodite yet. The green glow Cosmic Radiation one was great.

Long gone but still cool! This Hasbro Marvel Legends 375 Marvel's Electro Action Figure might be on a peg in a comic shop near you, but probably night - Spidey's foe has a big mask and no accessories. But he does have cool bolt gloves, so that makes him interesting enough to give a look because where else are you going to find this stuff these days? Read on, and come back tomorrow for more fun!
Classic Review: ToyFinity Mordles Crawler (Blue) Mini-Figures from 2013
A classic! I've written over 5,000 action figure reviews since 2006, so I'm going to toot my own horn with classic Figure of the Day.
Posted 10 years ago today! The ToyFinity Mordles Crawler (Blue) Mini-Figures were one of the first ToyFinity Mordle packs, and pretty dang good for the asking price. Read on, it's a good one - and come back tomorrow for an all-new review!
Via the Glyos News Dump: Cappy Space Drop Menu June 9, 2023. I posted the menu to the blog and went to dinner... and came back to all four figures and one of the two accessory packs being sold out! I ordered two figures and one weapons pack, so I'll post more about those when they arrive. They're little Crayboth-sized dudes that look friendly for Battle Beasts fanatics, so here's hoping. These little guys look fun.

Review: Hasbro Transformers Rise of the Beasts Beast Battle Masters Skullcruncher Figure
Something new every day-- unless it's old! Our exciting Figure of the Day continues for you lucky people! Is there anything we won't cover in this column? Probably not!
Via Krool Toys, who I've never heard of: Grimace's Birthday is new advergaming to market the return of the McDonaldland characters. But the twist is that this web game is a Game Boy Color game, and you can find the ROM on Archive.org already for your ROM carts, MiSTer, Analogue Pocket, and so on. The hamburger imperialist writes;
" Help Grimace find his friends in time to blow the candles out, and collect enough birthday shakes for his guests along the way!"
I want to know when the bootleg cartridges will show up out of China. I played through it in normal mode, and it's a bit of platforming, some skating, and a flying bubble thing. It's brief, but if you've ever played a good game at a demo kiosk in a department store or a Captron, it's about that much fun. You should try it on something with a controller. I played it on the Analogue Pocket and dug it.
Via Retronauts: Retronauts Episode 539: Minesweeper + Shareware. I'm listening to it as I write this, and it's funny to hear a retro podcast about Minesweeper until you realize it's over 30 years old and that thing you played on whatever computer you were stuck in when you were young is now pretty old. They say:
"This week, host Jeremy Parish and Jared Petty, editors both, speak to two different authors with game-focused books on the market: Kyle Orland takes the lead, having written a deep-dive into Minesweeper, the bite-sized PC game that reached millions due to its status as a Windows pack-in for decades. Richard Moss, meanwhile, tackles the far-reaching topic of shareware in his book, Shareware Heroes."
I am sure if you listen to podcasts, you probably have too many, but this is a good one and almost always worth a download.
Star Wars Review: Boba Fett (Kenner Flavor, The Vintage Collection)
Via the Star Wars Galactic Hunter Figure of the Day Blog: Boba Fett (Kenner Flavor, The Vintage Collection). I haven't seen one of these in stores for about a month, but I did find mine on-shelf before any shipped online - and other than the price, it's a pretty good figure. The colors aren't a perfect match, but I like someone nodding to Kenner yet again. Read the whole review.
Via Atari: Mr. Run And Jump is getting an official Atari cartridge - but it hasn't been yet confirmed how playable it is, or what the software will look like. I've seen no preview videos but it's reportedly $60 and that's not far off from other retro Nintendo or Atari cartridges. I'm excited to see how it turns out. Pre-orders go live July 31, and the page's fine print mentions XP compatibility which I assume is just a copy/paste error.
Something new every day-- unless it's old! Our exciting Figure of the Day continues for you lucky people! Is there anything we won't cover in this column? Probably not!
An indie. Orbitdyne HEAP Glow Head Vinyl Figure was molded here in the USA, and the green glows in the swirl, as well as the head. It's neat, and not too expensive either. Do read on, and come back tomorrow for more fun!
Via Modern Harmonic Records: Forbidden Isle of Demos got released last month, and I had no idea it was even a thing. The band - a curious exotica outfit that hasn't put out anything since 1998 - released this collection of demos that predate its excellent 1994 album I, Swinger. Which may sound a little kitschy to modern ears, but to be clear, it was also kitschy back then. There was a surprisingly big interest in retro music in the 1990s as swing, big band, and exotica stuff would get rereleased, repackaged, or just outright aped by the kids of the day because lounge music was cool. There was even a label of reissues called Ultra-Lounge.
Star Wars Review: Death Squad Commander (The Retro Collection)
Via the Star Wars Galactic Hunter Figure of the Day Blog: Death Squad Commander (The Retro Collection). Known as the Star Destroyer Commander after the first couple of years, this bowl-headed fellow has a straighter rank pin but his skin color is a little weirder than the original. He's part of a Shop Disney/Hasbro Pulse shared exclusive boxed set - and I recommend checking both stores to compare pricing. Last time I checked, the set was significantly cheaper on Hasbro Pulse. Read the whole review.
Review: Healey Made Raider (Shadow V.2) Action Figure
Something new every day-- unless it's old! Our exciting Figure of the Day continues for you lucky people! Is there anything we won't cover in this column? Probably not!
Different but cool! The Healey Made Raider (Shadow V.2) Action Figure is a remake with different colors - barely - but it's interesting. He's also got a swell thinner cape that's nicely done. Do read on, and come back tomorrow for more fun!
This week's batch of titles on the eShop: Arcade Archives Bravoman, Hatsune Miku Ð The Planet Of Wonder And Fragments Of Wishes, Beat ÔEm Up Archives, and over a dozen more.

Ninjas are in! This Hasbro Marvel Legends 375 Elektra Action Figure seems like the kind of thing you probably should have had in the 1990s, but it's designed on packaging from the 1980s, and came out in 2021 - and she's probably gone from stores by now. Read on, and come back tomorrow for more fun!
Classic Review: Mattel Hot Wheels Batmobile (Tim Burton, 2013) from 2013
A classic! I've written over 5,000 action figure reviews since 2006, so I'm going to toot my own horn with classic Figure of the Day.
Posted 10 years ago today! The Mattel Hot Wheels Batmobile (Tim Burton, 2013) is a great little car that was super exciting at the time - and I guess still relevant, because The Flash came out over the weekend with Michael Keaton running around as the Bat in it. Read on, it's a good one - and come back tomorrow for an all-new review!
Via The Glyos News Dump: Toy Pizza Drop Monday Night with Gauss Armor and Pink. The Gauss armor looks like some crazy 1980s/1990s manga-inspired armored figure that draws from a million influences, and speculation on its price has a lot of us quietly concerned. Is it $30? Is it $60? I don't know, but we're told it'll go up tonight at 7:30 PM Eastern... and probably sell out around 7:32 PM. So set those alarms.
Word on the street by those who have seen this figure in person say it's about five inches tall, or four and a half if it's cold.
Via Snakas via an eBay seller in Taiwan: The Rumored Walmart G2 Transformers Legacy Wave. It's a dream - for me! You might not be as fond of them. The flame red and orange Jazz has previously been revealed, but watermelon Mirage, sunny Sideswipe, the Laser Cycle (Soundwave), and G2 Dead End were not revealed to the public. These sure as heck look like official shots, so expect to see some Walmart availability or pre-orders soon, I hope.
Other figures as part of this Toxitron-themed capsule program are the aforementioned Toxitron plus Cloudcover. All of this would have made a spectacular BotCon set back in the day, and I certainly appreciate that it won't be preposterously expensive here.

Review: Hasbro Transformers Legacy Evolution Voyager Maximal Leo Prime Action Figure
Something new every day-- unless it's old! Our exciting Figure of the Day continues for you lucky people! Is there anything we won't cover in this column? Probably not!
New and good! The Hasbro Transformers Legacy Evolution Voyager Maximal Leo Prime Action Figure is pretty cute, and I had him sitting around for ages before opening him. I like the opening chest with the 3mm tab for energy effects, plus the head with the yellow eyes is a charmer. I could use more accessories - but it's still a nice lion robot. Read on, and come back tomorrow for more fun!
Kickstarter - Traumatarium - A new Game Boy game Ends Wednesday
Via Kickstarter: Traumatarium - A new Game Boy game from Broke Studio ends Wednesday. Broke Studio distributed some pretty good stuff, and weirdly, it's about $3,000 short at press time.
The game is described as a dungeon crawler, and I would say it's more like a choose-your-own-adventure meets 1980s shareware (but with better graphics) from 1980s Mac development. It looks good, but there's not a lot of action. Like Oregon Trail, you start off in a town and have to stock up on supplies. You then are turned loose in a dungeon, each scene has two choices. Explore or leave. Fight a monster, or use an item. There's not much to it, but there is a free demo file which you can try on your MiSTer/Pocket/emulator/whatever.
The ROM is about $17. A boxed cartridge is about $50.
I'll be picking up a painted Gauss at some point, but it sure looks cool in its early form. As of my writing this late Monday night, two of the four items have sold out.
Star Wars Review: R2 Unit (Red, 2023 Pride Collection)
Via the Star Wars Galactic Hunter Figure of the Day Blog: R2 Unit (Red, 2023 Pride Collection). Given a lot of things, it really is getting better - minus some missing paint detail under the droid's eye, this R2 unit is a colorful creation that stands out as not looking like the hundreds of astromech droids you may already have. A dark red dome on a bright red body with some pink highlights? Awesome. I like this one - and it's part of a set of six, so we'll be coming back to these over the coming weeks. Read the whole review.
Review: Hasbro The Adventures of Indiana Jones Short Round Action Figure
Something new every day-- unless it's old! Our exciting Figure of the Day continues for you lucky people! Is there anything we won't cover in this column? Probably not!
New! But it looks somewhat old. Hasbro The Adventures of Indiana Jones Short Round Action Figure may be at a Target near you now, and the head sculpt looks a lot like a 1980s figure - with a separately molded jacket piece that's very late 1990s. His head is molded in multiple colors, so it's less a real retro figure than Do read on, and come back tomorrow for more fun!
Via Nintendo.com: Super Mario Bros. Wonder, Super Mario RPG, and many more games announced for Nintendo Switch. I generally don't have much reason to plug Nintendo Direct programs, but enough people I know missed it that it's worth pointing out - especially since the Nintendo/Squaresoft RPG Super Mario RPG is getting a Switch remake. That's kind of amazing - mostly because I struggle to name a heck of a lot of 16-bit-era games getting a modern makeover since the era of the Nintendo Wii and DS.
Star Wars Review: Chewbacca (Boushh's Bounty, The Black Series)
Via the Star Wars Galactic Hunter Figure of the Day Blog: Chewbacca (Boushh's Bounty, The Black Series). Hasbro really doesn't like to make new Chewbacca bodies - we're still getting the Vintage 2004 one, and this The Black Series body shares the same basic build as every 6-inch scale Wookiee so far. But he has a new head, so that's something. It's new, technically, and the collar does some neat things intertwining with the fur around the neck. Otherwise? More of the same. Read the whole review.
Something new every day-- unless it's old! Our exciting Figure of the Day continues for you lucky people! Is there anything we won't cover in this column? Probably not!
Blue and also old! The Onell Design Glyos Noboto Diversus Mutant sold out about five years ago - sorry! - but it's still a very good figure with lots of painted detail. You get two heads, a removable belt, a scarf, a backpack, and a few other parts - and it was all in a bag for $12. I believe it has been about 2-3 years since we last got a Noboto mold, so if you don't recognize it that may be why. Do read on, and come back tomorrow for more fun!
Via the Glyos News Dump: Healey Made Returns with Assassin (Shadow) on Saturday! If she looks familiar, she's similar to the Assassin (R-Complex) from 2021. But if you compare the two, they're wholly different figures with a similar vibe. I'll be buying it if it's in stock when I wake up, it launches at 12:00 PM Eastern on July 24.
Review: Hasbro Marvel Legends 375 Dark Phoenix Action Figure
Something new every day-- unless it's old! Our exciting Figure of the Day continues for you lucky people! Is there anything we won't cover in this column? Probably not!
The regular version is in a 2-pack! This Hasbro Marvel Legends 375 Dark Phoenix Action Figure has nifty glowing eyes - they don't actually glow - and a sharp, colorful costume that looks a lot like the comics. I like it. Read on, and come back tomorrow for more fun!
Classic Review: ToyFinity Mordles Standard Edition (Yellow) Mini-Figures from 2013
A classic! I've written over 5,000 action figure reviews since 2006, so I'm going to toot my own horn with classic Figure of the Day.
Posted 10 years ago today! The ToyFinity Mordles Standard Edition (Yellow) Mini-Figures were one of the first ToyFinity Mordle packs, and I still love the little goobers. New colorways are still being sold and pricing isn't half bad. The quality is excellent, although I never had the originals against which to compare them - in their own right? They're great. Read on, it's a good one - and come back tomorrow for an all-new review!
Via Kickstarter: The House in the Cemetery NES game. The game is done, and it looks like it has a lot of puzzles - but no demo as of yet. They claim to be ready with finished cartridges in September 2023, which means I would suggest managing your expectations to the tune of 3-6 months. (Some do ship on time, but well, you know. Don't get your hopes up, cheese.)
Cart-only is $50, boxed cart is $65, and there are fancier color variant packages too. A ROM is $15.
Via The Hollywood Reporter: 'Grease,' 'Star Trek: Prodigy,' 'Queen of the Universe,' 'The Game' Canceled and Being Removed From Paramount+. It's a pretty good show, especially the last chunk of episodes. A whole second season is said to be complete and possibly shopped around to other services, so hopefully someone shows the good-but-underseen program. It was fun while it lasted and is one of the first shows in quite some time to be getting canceled what appears to be early. (Plus or minus how you view Discovery and/or Short Treks.)
A small selection of figures were manufactured [buy at Entertainment Earth][Also Amazon] with Janeway being canned and Rok-Tahk not being shown. The figures did actually see release, but the entire franchise being paywalled until occasionally being dumped on YouTube doesn't do much to engender the kind of fanaticism we saw in the 1990s. The show took place in a post-Voyager time frame and featured appearances by a few characters and aliens from the 1990s, so it's kind of a shame but this is probably the end of peak TV. They can't cater to the nerderatti forever.
Via the Glyos News Dump: The God Beast - June 23, 2023 Drop Menu. It was the second of three drops last week, with four items including a black bundle of unpainted figures.
Also, check out the Healey Made Drop Menu: June 24, 2023. The Assassin (Shadow) went up for $25, and there are some Raider V.2 figures are also still available.
Everybody Famous Pulls Out of Comic-Con Panels (not Booths)
Via Variety: Comic-Con Crisis: Marvel, Netflix, Sony, HBO and Universal to Skip SDCC as Fest Faces Another Existential Threat. Marvel previously bailed on Hall H, Sideshow is supposedly out, and I am under the impression Hasbro will still be there. I assume the Star Wars Pavilion will remain and can't imagine there will be no Marvel booth - but if there are no celebrities... that might be good. When I started going to the convention over 20 years ago, it was a handful of exclusive toys, a lot of comic and cartoon people, and very few movies. Then people started camping out overnight for Hall H and everything got pretty weird. I know it's cliche for people to say "it was better in the old days," but "not having to delegate someone to sleep on the sidewalk when you pay for a hotel room" sounds infinitely better to me.
Granted, the kind of people who show up for artist's alley and various famous fantasy painters and such don't bring in the big bucks - but not having the place packed with talent, their agents, and other people who are there to be seen might make for an overall more fun experience for those who can get tickets. (Can Svengoolie go? I want to see Svengoolie.)
Again, you will probably still see video game booths, toy booths, even major motion picture studio booths - but celebrities might be light this year, and those who go for the whole Hall H experience may find it lacking. Or, like how it used to be 10-15 years ago, which may actually be a lot more pleasant. Very few exclusives and panels have been announced as of yet, and if you're reading this I should also say there's a small chance I might be sitting on stage for something. My apologies to that audience in advance.

Winning Moves Games Dual Licenses Playmobil Monopoly
Via World of Monopoly (and Winning moves Germany): Playmobil (Germany) is a new Monopoly board game. Six metal tokens are included of a Knight's Helmet, a Cat, a Crown, a Fire Truck, a Horse, and a Cat. The board is German, so I have no idea if a US version is coming. It seems to focus a lot on recent releases and stock photos of recent product, but hey - Playmobil. It's nice to see. Maybe we'll see LEGO Monopoly some day.
Star Wars Review: Grogu (The Rescue Set, The Vintage Collection)
Via the Star Wars Galactic Hunter Figure of the Day Blog: Grogu (The Rescue Set, The Vintage Collection). It's a new sculpt, it's arguably an accessory, and it's not really bad. As part of a $75 set you won't be feeling you got your money's worth, but at least it's decent. Read the whole review.
Via Mattel Creations: Jurassic World The Gates Crowdfund was leaked on Monday as a $250 bag of grab. You get electronic gates that stand over 20-inches high with the Ford Explorer, and everything else is a stretch goal. It's a little slow out of the gates, and ships next year if it hits the 5,000 piece mark.
At the end of the first day, it has about 12% funding with 625 backers.
Via Retro-Bit: Sol-Deace and El Viento are getting reissues. Each is about $55 and comes with a manual and slightly fancy package. Pre-orders for both run through July 30 and are expected by the end of 2023, which probably means early 2024. (That's how it works these days.)
If $55 sounds pricey, it's not too bad. $55 in 2023 is about $25 from 1991 when adjusted for inflation, and for a low-run specialty product it is arguably a pretty decent deal. Granted, I'm sure these could be made even more cheaply but you typically don't do limited edition reissues at the lowest quality possible. An original Sol-Deace cartridge will probably set you back at least $45 these days, while El Viento seems to be $70 or much higher.

Via Hasbro Pulse: First Looks at HasLab Deathsaurus Early Sample shows you an unfinished look at the upcoming toy set, and it looks great. Not just great, but the orange plastic looks better than the promised metallic gold. I'd be happy to have it.
It's a long video showing off the former Dezaras along with Pipo, Boater, and the throne. It's worth jumping through to see what's painted, what's molded, and what's big. It's all big.
Via the Star Wars Galactic Hunter Figure of the Day Blog: Jawa (The Retro Collection). With a slightly different hood sculpt, this little guy's cloth hood is a spectacularly good match of the original. I like the detail, the color change is interesting, and it's one of the better remakes. They even changed the blaster color a bit -so you can add him to your sandcrawler and he still looks different enough to be interesting. Read the whole review.

Via Comic-Con.org: 2023 Exhibitors. Of note: Hasbro doesn't have its storefront booth (like last year.) BanDai seems to have expended to at least six booths. Funko also seems to have expanded. Nintendo has no visible presence, nor does Microsoft or Sony.
Exclusive announcements have been a little slow coming for 2023 and Sideshow Collectibles is out from the show completely. With major studios continuing to pull out, it might be a roomier show.
This week's batch of titles on the eShop: Arcade Archives Splatter House, The Lara Croft Collection, Suicide Guy: The Lost Dreams, and over a dozen more.
