Something new every day-- unless it's old! Our exciting Figure of the Day continues for you lucky people! Is there anything we won't cover in this column? Probably not!
A new generation - or an old one! The Hasbro Transformers Legacy Voyager G2 Universe Jhiaxus Action Figure is a figure from a 30-year-old comic book that is finally getting a toy that is colored like his earliest appearances. It's pretty fun too, and looks great next to other new (and old) Generation 2 toys. Read on, and come back tomorrow for more fun!
Via Matt Hughson: Minekart Madness for NES is up right now as a free ROM. He describes it as "an homage to the simple coin-op games of the 80's. It takes inspiration from classics such as Donkey Kong and Pac-Man." And he's right. I played a few rounds of it and it's pretty generous. You're timed, all you can really do is jump and slow down - or go up a ramp. You turn when you hit a wall. It's very much like 1980s games where you get frustrated by a new control scheme until you go "Oh, I get it" and then try your best.
It's also free, so I suggest giving it a shot on your emulator/ROM cart/MiSTer/whatever of choice. No cartridge release was mentioned as of yet. I'll be giving it some more time, it's fun to figure out the unusual controls.
What does this mean for the figures? Who the heck knows. It's possible the Goblin Queen, Mephisto, Robbie, and *checks notes* Son of Satan could be worked in as mainline figures, convention exclusives, or released in some other manner in the future. It's not known if the stretch goals are forbidden from distribution elsewhere or if these concepts may never see the light of day again, but hopefully they will find a way to get made for the fans who want them. Just make it known if you want these things, just in case there's an outlet to get them made. (Well, there is, you just need to hope they'll do it.)
Licensed/third party toy-maker Ramen Toy has announced its intentions to make a 6-inch scale burning muscle car already, so if the figures get out there, this could be a next-best thing for 1:12 figure fans. No price was given but looking at their other offerings, it could be $350 without any figures and I wouldn't be stunned.
Via the Star Wars Galactic Hunter Figure of the Day Blog: NED-B (Disney Droid Factory). It's a dirty robot, and a pretty good one. Also, shorter than the Retro Kenner release, despite being a Disney-made theme park figure. Read the whole review.

Newish! The Super7 Planet of the Apes Lawgiver Statue is a 2020 release that looks like a 1976 release, and comes complete with accessory and weathered paint job. And it's big. So read on, and come back tomorrow for more fun!
The IG-88 and Dengar set has not yet shipped but pre-orders are still open. From an early glance, Bossk's hand is redesigned from the original and the fingers are bent more. Boba Fett's hand may be retooled from the 2020 release - the fingers look different. We'll have impressions in non-ad space later.
Star Wars Review: R2-SHW (Antoc Merrick's Astromech Droid, The Vintage Collection)
Via the Star Wars Galactic Hunter Figure of the Day Blog: R2-SHW (Antoc Merrick's Astromech Droid, The Vintage Collection). Nice droid, not so nice price - it's $17 for a repaint of a $10 R2-D2, and a lot of the accessories are left out. It's a bit ridiculous, but if you want this droid for the X-Wing droid socket, this is your option. He's also a little short for the socket, which is part of a toy vehicle that has been in circulation and retooled since 1998. At least they painted the droid nicely. Read the whole review.
The ICV2 feature cites supply chain and inventory issues, and speculates there will be discounts to move some on-hand inventory. This isn't exactly out of the norm right now - action figure collectors have seen newly-released exclusive toys marked down within 1-2 months this year on the regular, and a lot of movie-based toy lines go on clearance before the box office opens for ticket sales.
Some have speculated that Funko will wind up like Ty's Beanie Babies, but it's important to remember that Ty is still in business and selling Beanie Babies. The plush brand turns 30 next year.
Transformers Earthspark Airs Friday on Nickelodeon
Via Nickelodeon: Transformers EarthSpark - Secret Legacy is set to air Friday on multiple Nick channels. If you have a cable streaming recording thing, you might want to go aheand and set it up.
Is it good? It's possible - Cyberverse didn't seem to initially excite fans but kids dug it, and the War for Cybertron and Prime Wars Trilogy are probably worth not mentioning. This new one has a pretty impressive voice cast and animation style for a half-hour toy commercial, but hopefully it'll be something kids enjoy since, you know, that's the audience.
Nickelodeon was also involved in the entertaining kiddie show Star Trek Prodigy, which is the first time they went after the not-older-fans audience in quite some time. It's kid stuff, but it also lacks the eye trauma, self-harm, and general weight of a Picard.
Via HasLab: Transformers Generations HasLab Deathsaurus continues along at an acceptable trajectory, currently at 5,912. It's up from 5,161 a week ago, and people who track the velocity of these projects seem to think it's on-track to fund. I assume once color photos appear, there will be a pretty good surge in demand. (Or, you know, the opposite of that.)
While painted samples aren't yet revealed, history shows Victory Saber was revealed on August 27, 2021. Color renders were shown September 22, 2021. We may have to wait a few weeks.
Last week, HeroScape was at 3,039. At press time, it's at 3,410 units with about a week to go. It will most likely not reach its goal.
It is worth noting that Marvel Legends Engine of Vengeance died a coward's death on Halloween. I'm kidding - sort of. It's one of three high-profile failures over the last year. It is entirely possible Hasbro (like Mattel) need to lower expectations of what "success" is and if $3.15 million is truly the lowest they need to sell to make this worth their while.
Meanwhile, Mattel's Masters of the Universe Origins Eternia Playset is not only fully funded, but they opened King Grayskull up to more than early bird backers. But if you want the playset, you have to pledge by November 9 (Wednesday.) At $550 I assume a lot of people are going to make some tough decisions this week.
Classic Review: Hasbro Spider-Man Dive Bomber Green Goblin from 2010
A classic! I've written over 5,000 action figure reviews since 2006, so I'm going to toot my own horn with classic Figure of the Day.
#65 from 2010! The Hasbro Spider-Man Dive Bomber Green Goblin was surprisingly good - colorful, durable and included a pumpkin bomb. Articulation was excellent for a kid line and I'd argue this was better than a lot of what we got in its contemporary, Marvel Universe, which was the "adult" or "collector/fan" line of a similar size. Read on, it's a good one - and come back tomorrow for an all-new review!
We're taking donations for server costs! Really. One of the rewards is Q&A a few days early - you can read next Monday's installment as soon as it's ready, which can be as early as 1:00 AM my time on Monday!
If you've got a dollar a month to share, please Visit the Galactic Hunter Patreon and help cover our server costs. Something new every day-- unless it's old! Our exciting Figure of the Day continues for you lucky people! Is there anything we won't cover in this column? Probably not!
Not too new, but still neat! The Hasbro Transformers Legacy Deluxe Kickback Action Figure is a figure update that more or less gives a modern take on the original that's bigger and has more moving parts, but less chrome and no wheels. I like it just fine, and it may be in a store near you since wave two still isn't making the rounds. Read on, and come back tomorrow for more fun!
Via ultimatemister.com: DE-10 Nano price keeps going up. They write "Terasic has informed us that as of January 2023 the DE-10 Nano price might be raised again. Last week we already had a raise of 8 USD per unit."
The board exists so people can prototype various chips, but the retro game sphere currently uses it to play a number of old video games - and the price has gone up steadily without slowing down demand. As such if you're looking to build a MiSTer solution, maybe buy that board. It's currently $223, and could be had under $135 in 2020. It's also worth noting that the Analogue Pocket, a portable FPGA-based console that lets you side-load various cores on it, now costs less than just the base board to build a MiSTer (if you can wait for one.)
Via the Star Wars Galactic Hunter Figure of the Day Blog: R3-T2 (Disney Droid Factory). It's a remake of a Hasbro exclusive for Entertainment Earth from 2006, and Disney made it look a lot better with more accurate details and brighter colors. Read the whole review.
Via TFW2005: Some in hand pics of a just-arrived Victory Saber (or Sabre) set. That's good! The packaging presentation is incredibly lavish compared to Unicron's brown box, but there's a problem. Plastic sock ties seem to be rubbing the gold on the chests of the two big robots, which will probably create demand for replacement foil stickers.
As far as I know American orders haven't shipped yet, so for all I know the rubbing will be an outlier, or someone will have replacement stickers ready in no time.

Bagged! The Hasbro Marvel Black Panther Action Figure is a low-dollar figure - if you saw it in a store, it would be between $2 and $4. It has no gear, and its construction is pretty similar to the Kenner figures of old despite being from about 2019. You've probably never seen one because it was sold mostly in grocery stores, drug stores, and not-in-the-USA. (There are some on eBay, where I got mine.) I recommend it. So read on, and come back tomorrow for more fun!
Limited Run Konami Arcade Classics Anniversary Collection
Via Limited Run Games: Arcade Classics Anniversary Collection for Switch and PlayStation 4. There's a lot of fanfare - there's a record, a poster, pins, shirts, and extras in the special edition sets. But what about the games?
Regular, Classic, and Ultimate editions are sold with increasing levels of stuff and some pretty high prices. Games include Scramble, TwinBee, Nemesis (Gradius), Salamander (Life Force), Typhoon (A-Jax), Haunted Castle (not Castlevania), and Vulcan Venture (Gradius II) with Thunder Cross... a horizontal shooter which maybe should've been named something else.
Star Wars Review: Protocol Droid (Holiday Edition, The Black Series)
Via the Star Wars Galactic Hunter Figure of the Day Blog: Protocol Droid (Holiday Edition, The Black Series). Review: Hasbro Marvel Legends 375 Hulk Action Figure
Something new every day-- unless it's old! Our exciting Figure of the Day continues for you lucky people! Is there anything we won't cover in this column? Probably not!
It's good! I love the cheap bagged Hulk, but the Hasbro Marvel Legends 375 Hulk Action Figure is good for other reasons. Unfortunately it also costs about three times as much - but you get a beefier build, a bigger fist, and a hand for gripping other figures that works pretty well. This one works well as a toy, too! Also this kicks off Marvel Mondays for (at least) the rest of the year. Stay tuned for more tomorrow! Read on, and come back tomorrow for more fun!
Via RetroRGB: State of the Analogue Pocket Ð November Õ22 has updates on a lot of new cores you can side-load on the stock system. A Super Game Boy core could be particularly exciting for fans of Donkey Kong (the 1994 game) which has enhanced sounds and colors on the old Super NES adapter.
Other information is tantalizing for future prospects, like mouse and keyboard support. It's not worth much today, but future cores or functionality could be pretty exciting - especially for drawing backgrounds in that Super Game Boy core.
Via HasLab: Transformers Generations HasLab Deathsaurus continues along without color images, currently sitting at 6,413. It's up from 5,912 a week ago, but is short of the 11,000 needed to hit production. You've still got about four weeks, and I assume numbers won't get a big bump until color renders are shared.
Last week, HeroScape was at 3,410. At press time, it's at 3,792 units with a day and change to go. It will not reach its goal.
Also, Mattel's Masters of the Universe Origins Eternia Playset ended with 9,291. It plateaued early when it looked like King Grayskull would only be for early backers, and it didn't hit its last stretch goal with Keclar.
Following Jazwares and Micro Machines, the report says "Licensing is set for a major expansion with new[...] partnerships announced with Basic Fun on Littlest Pet Shop." Hasbro basically set the brand out to pasture over the last year, so this way stuff can get made and Hasbro can get a check.
Also of interest: "Direct to consumer and digital will be a major investment focus for the Company. The CompanyÕs direct platform, anchored by Hasbro Pulse and D&D Beyond, is poised to become a $1 billion digital and ecommerce direct business with over 50 million accounts by 2027, up from 20 million today, and will host new exclusives including the recently launched Hasbro Selfie Series, Has-Lab crowdfunded products, the return of the iconic sports collectible, Starting Lineup, and the relaunch of Avalon HillÕs HeroScape gaming system."
You'll note that the first product in the HeroScape platform is the HasLab game listed above that has about zero chance of funding this week. As much as I would love to hope digital toys are a fad, digital downloads of video games sure aren't so there's probably a lot of potential in there.
A classic! I've written over 5,000 action figure reviews since 2006, so I'm going to toot my own horn with classic Figure of the Day.
#50 from 2010! The Hasbro Spider-Man (Kid Series) Toxic Blast Venom was awesome - almost super-articulated, beefy, vibrant, and he came with an axe and a rocket launcher. These older Marvel guys were really something, and they mostly went away. Prices on eBay range from "cheap" to "not," so good hunting. Read on, it's a good one - and come back tomorrow for an all-new review!

Review: Hasbro Transformers Studio Series Autobot Wheelie
Something new every day-- unless it's old! Our exciting Figure of the Day continues for you lucky people! Is there anything we won't cover in this column? Probably not!
Fun and new, in stock for you! The Hasbro Transformers Studio Series Autobot Wheelie is showing up now and you can get yours today, probably, if you order it somewhere. He's small and has a slingshot - I like it Read on, and come back tomorrow for more fun!
The paywalled article (mirrored elsewhere) blames things like a $999 booster pack set and things impacting perceived collectibility as an issue. But it may be a bit hyperbolic, according to other views and generally speaking some financial journalists don't know a lot about the product itself. It would be silly to discount the various projects at Hasbro just for what they're doing (or are perceived to be doing) with a card game, but it's not like the stock market has been known for its many rational decisions. But also no fandom tends to last forever.
Star Wars Review: Bespin Security Guard (Isdam Edian, The Vintage Collection)
Via the Star Wars Galactic Hunter Figure of the Day Blog: Bespin Security Guard (Isdam Edian, The Vintage Collection). It's Lando parts with a new head and torso, but generally gets the job done. I just wish they actually gave one of the last few vintage figures left to update an original sculpt since the legs look a little weird, as do the cuffs around the sleeves, since they were not intended for this one. Read the whole review.
Via PCEWorks: Dinoforce. It's an unreleased shooter that was shown in a magazine in 1991, but never seen in full, nor released. These guys are taking pre-orders on a HuCard (regular and fancy editions aplenty) starting at $89 European not-dollars in TurboGrafx-16 and PC Engine HuCard trade dress. You've got options.
What is particularly exciting is that the ROM is being release for free on Friday, November 25. So you can emulate it or MiSTer it up or use whatever your ROM cart options are, if you prefer. Is it any good? I haven't a clue, but I'll grab it in ten days and find out.
I'm not entirely sure where the figure was sold, but at least one German-language YouTube video indicates it was a premium when you bought a couple of Asterix "comic albums." Since I don't know who Goudurix is and nobody in America cares about Asterix - the line wasn't brought over here - odds are your only crack at this fellow is eBay.
Right now the cheapest unpackaged figures with the wrong accessory is about US $9. The cheapest packaged one is about $35 shipped. Cheaper closed auctions seem to be selling for about $25-$30, so if you want one, it may behoove you to watch the listings for a bit. Apparently he came out in September. Who knew? Not you, because you also don't care about Asterix.
Via HasLab: HEROSCAPE AGE OF ANNIHILATION: Vanguard Edition, like a lot of recent HasLab products, failed to hit its funding goal. In roughly the past year we've seen four projects fail to fund, and three succeed.
HeroScape did enjoy a bump before ending. Sunday night, it was at about 3,792 units. While the number seemed to bounce up and down a tiny bit at the end, the project finished at a high of 4,353.
Since this was meant to kick off a game platform's return with retail products and presumably expansions, it will be interesting to see what actually comes to pass over the next couple of years. Does this make Hasbro decide that the brand isn't worth pursuing, or does it just make crowdfunding for what should be a mass-market (or at least specialty) product a trend that just needs to end? I guess we'll find out pretty soon.
Meanwhile, Deathsaurus enjoyed an international pledge dump and is nearing 10,000 backers of the 11,000 needed. Given we haven't seen color renders yet, it's all but guaranteed he'll fund with 26 days to go.
Review: Playmobil 70732 "Fi?ures" Figures Raffle Man
Something new every day-- unless it's old! Our exciting Figure of the Day continues for you lucky people! Is there anything we won't cover in this column? Probably not!
Did you know you can't use the word "raffle" on Patreon? The Playmobil 70732 "Fi?ures" Figures Raffle Man is a 2021 figure that I assume is some German thing. It's just some guy in a colorful outfit with tickets - which is different than most of my other figures, so I say "neat." So read on, and come back tomorrow for more fun!
Via Parisoft (of the Street Fighter II demo fame): Skatemasta Tcheco demo for the NES.. This is the dev responsible for the NES L'Abbaye des Morts port as well as a killer Berzerk conversion, as well as a pretty good Street Fighter II demo/proof-of-concept.
I'm not a big skate game fan but I loved his other work so I grabbed it. It's pretty snappy and a lot of the graphics look almost too good for an NES - give it a peek.
Star Wars Review: Bossk (and Boba Fett, The Retro Collection)
Via the Star Wars Galactic Hunter Figure of the Day Blog: Bossk (and Boba Fett, The Retro Collection). He's just different enough to make you happy? He looks a teeny tiny bit different from the original 1980s toy, but has a retooled hand to better hold his blaster and a few minor paint masks changes. The sculpt is less detailed (like all reissues so far), but he'll probably make you happy if you want a figure that hasn't beheld the ravages of age. Read the whole review.
Hasbro Dumping Non-Brand Parts of eOne (the Peppa Studio)
Via many outlets like THR: Hasbro Puts Entertainment One Film, TV Unit Up for Sale. Hasbro had planned on using the UK-based content unit as the backbone for cartoons, movies, games, and other projects, but apparently like the Hub it's done with its shiny new toy and will be selling it off. And if you don't like THR, Variety has a story too.
From the The Hollywood Reporter article: "Hasbro said possibly shedding eOne would allow the company to focus on branded assets like Peppa Pig, Transformers and Dungeons & Dragons as it looks to be become a digital games giant. Exploring a sales process for eOne follows division CEO Darren Throop leaving the Hasbro division at the end of 2022 as he serves out his current employment contract."
"Hasbro has retained J.P. Morgan and Centerview Partners to assist with the sale process. eOne has a film and TV library with around 6,500 titles and a branded film and scripted TV business that produces and finances content like Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves, The Woman King, Yellowjackets and The Rookie franchise."
It makes sense - and probably is a good way to prop up the stock as we eye the end of yet another quarter in the near future.
Something new every day-- unless it's old! Our exciting Figure of the Day continues for you lucky people! Is there anything we won't cover in this column? Probably not!
It's good! I love the cheap bagged Firestar, but the Hasbro Marvel Legends 375 Firestar Action Figure is a worthwhile figure that seems to borrow a little more from her comic appearances than her cartoon appearances on Spider-Man and His Amazing Friends in 1981. Where she was an ex-X-Men, was kidnapped by Dracula, and was generally "the smart one" to Bobby "Iceman" Drake's quasi-himbo. Read on, and come back tomorrow for more fun!
Via LimitedRunGames: Hime's Quest (GBC). Dust off your VHS fansubs and haul your butt to the anime screening society for what I assume is a Zelda-alike starring Crunchyroll's mascot? The game is set to ship in May 2023 and the trailer doesn't show much gameplay. The Crunchyroll store has an orange cartridge while LRG has green.
There's very little information about the game itself, but pre-orders are open until Christmas for $44.99.
Via HasLab: Transformers Generations HasLab Deathsaurus continues along with some color images, currently sitting at 9,364. It's up significantly from 6,413 a week ago, thanks to those new pictures and a big dump of overseas pledges from outside the Pulse store.
Classic Review: Hasbro Indiana Jones Crystal Skull Indy Action Figure from 2008
A classic! I've written over 5,000 action figure reviews since 2006, so I'm going to toot my own horn with classic Figure of the Day.
FOTD #12 from 2010! The Hasbro Indiana Jones Crystal Skull Indy Action Figure was awesome - but by today's standards the hat and outfit look a little bulky. Articulation on this 3 3/4-inch figure was great for the time, and this may have been the one you wanted to buy back then because he would sometimes have the best face paint. (A lot of them had really poor face paint - you'd have to inspect dozens to find a pretty good one.) At least three known scales of Indiana Jones figures are coming from Hasbro, and we'll most likely be reviewing the Kenner one here when it ships. Read on, it's a good one - and come back tomorrow for an all-new review!

Review: Outer Space Men Cosmic Radiation Ohpromatem Action Figure
Something new every day-- unless it's old! Our exciting Figure of the Day continues for you lucky people! Is there anything we won't cover in this column? Probably not!
Glows! The Outer Space Men Cosmic Radiation Ohpromatem Action Figure is still available. She isn't cheap by 2018 standards, but $25 for a low-run figure in 2022 is not terribly bad given mass-market price increases. She has three faces, alternate arms, and glows - sure she's ridiculous, but who isn't? So read on, and come back tomorrow for more fun!
I was also informed there's a 40% off code for this figure at The Outer Space Men Store. It's, unsurprisingly, "BLACKFRIDAY" and I have no idea when it expires, so give it a shot this weekend.
Via the Glyos News Dump: Healeymade: New Figure Black Friday. It's most likely going to be a new (and for its first release, almost assuredly unpainted) probably Kenner-style figure.
Mr. Healey made a post confirming the involvement of Matt Doughty, but also Stephen Geddes and the Four Horsemen. And Double G Toys, which is probably George Gaspar. That's quite the murderer's row of toy talent, so I am excited.
Star Wars Review: Viper Probe Droid (Droid Factory / Disney)
Via the Star Wars Galactic Hunter Figure of the Day Blog: Viper Probe Droid (Droid Factory / Disney). It's smaller than previous Kenner and Hasbro molds, but the detailing is really good and according to some reference sources, the smaller size is more accurate to The Empire Strikes Back too. But it's Thanksgiving, you're not reading toy reviews. Read the whole review.

Something new every day-- unless it's old! Our exciting Figure of the Day continues for you lucky people! Is there anything we won't cover in this column? Probably not!
It's big! This Hasbro Marvel Legends 375 Sentinel Action Figure is probably another example of a collector tax - it's about as articulated as a 12-inch Titan Hero Series figure, but costs twice as much. It's neat, I like the detail, but Hasbro is clearly aiming for the Kenner heartstrings and even though it's a little too good for retro, I like it. It's a charmer. Stay tuned for more tomorrow! Read on, and come back tomorrow for more fun!
Via the Glyos News Dump: Here Is the New Healey Made Trooper (Proto). The $20 unpainted figure is the first crack at a new mold that seems to borrow a bit from a few 1980s 3 3/4-inch action figure lines.
If it's still in stock, you can get one - future versions will be coming in a few months and are usually painted. Click here to see if the retro-looking Kenner-esque figure is still available.
Via HasLab: Transformers Generations HasLab Deathsaurus continues along at 10,752. It's up from 9,364 a week ago, but is still short of the 11,000 needed to hit production.
You've still got two weeks, and we were told to expect painted color samples of the toy - a step up from the color renders - at some point this week. It's all but guaranteed it will hit this week and if previous toys are any indication, orders may surge significantly once it goes from "maybe" to "yes."
Classic Review: Takara-Tomy Beast Saga Kingdom of Gloria Action Figure Set from 2012
A classic! I've written over 5,000 action figure reviews since 2006, so I'm going to toot my own horn with classic Figure of the Day.
Posted 10 years ago today! The Takara-Tomy Beast Saga Kingdom of Gloria Action Figure Set hets you three figures - Big Sero the Deer, Jidam the Mouse, and Raioga the Lion. They're still pretty cool, the line came and went in a hurry leaving some nice unproduced figures in its wake. Today you can probably get this set for around $20 before shipping, and it's a nice set for that price. Read on, it's a good one - and come back tomorrow for an all-new review!

Blue! The Super7 Transformers Grimlock G2 ReAction Figure is the kind of thing you just have to pick up because it's weird. I haven't seen any in Target stores - where he's an exclusive - myself yet, but I got one online and he's been on my desk for over a month. He's a chunky dinosaur with a moving jaw. Read on, and come back tomorrow for more fun!
Via HasLab: Transformers Generations HasLab Deathsaurus funded, and is nearing its first stretch goal! It was 10,752 Sunday night, and at press time it's over 12,448. Presumably, a big international bag of orders got added, but the number also increased throughout Monday evening.
The first stretch goal is his Living-Metal-Destroying Cannon at 14,000. The cool accessory, though, is the throne - and that won't kick in until 17,000. But it probably will at the rate it's being bought, so go ahead and buy a Deathsaurus if you want.
