Mighty Muggs Tattoo, and If You Missed It: Target Bruticus Out, $29.99
|
In case you missed it, the long-delayed formerly Universe but now Movieverse Bruticus is at some Target stores now! It's $29.99, which is a pretty decent deal considering that it's a repaint of five previously released toys that cost $10 for the central body and $7 each for the four limbs. So basically, it's about $8 cheaper, making it one of very few Hasbro products to not see a wicked increase when they reissued it. Happy hunting!

DEVO Tour, MP3s, Reissues
|
Hey Devo fans, clubdevo.com has news of a new tour and album reissues. We attempted to contact their press people over the weekend but so far, nada.
Ticket buyers for their new tour will get 3 MP3s of rare tracks to download. According to the site: "The previously unreleased versions of "Whip It," "Red Shark" (later re-titled "It's Not Right" and recorded with different lyrics), and "Turn Around," were recorded in 1979 on a four-track in the band's rehearsal space at Modern Music in Hollywood, CA." And as to the shows themselves: The band will play back-to-back nights in select cities, performing Are We Not Men? live the first night, and Freedom of Choice the second nightboth albums in their entirety!
Now why are they doing that? Reissues. November 3, 2009, both their first and third albums will be reissued on vinyl and, presumably, CD. What changes will be made are unknown at press time. (Again, our emails were not answered.)

At the ACToys.com boards, get a look at a downsized, unauthorized reproduction of the Masterpiece Convoy toy currently known as IG-PP01C. It's clear for reasons that aren't... clear... but there it is. It seems like it would be a great toy were Hasbro to make one, and it also seems like a copyright-based warning shot. Will it come out? Does Hasbro Legal really care about this sort of thing? We can't wait to see!

Super Street Fighter IV Coming 2010
|
The follow-up to last February's game-- now on clearance for cheapo at Target-- is coming in Spring 2010. Reports say between 8 and 10 new characters will be added, including T. Hawk and newcomer from South Korea Juri. Presumably, this is to crack into the highly competitive market of competitive gaming over there. New matching systems, more characters, and other features are said to be added. We're seeing third-party reports indicate the game will have a lower price and owners of the current Street Fighter IV will be able to unlock some special extra-- but Capcom isn't talking about these just yet. So we're interested in hearing more.
