Analogue Nt mini Noir - New/Reissued NES Fancy Clone

NintendoNoirVia Analogue: Analogue Nt mini Noir. It's $499, and comes with a wireless controller to play all your NES and Famicom cartridges in a newly retooled slot.

With $20ish shipping, it's already pretty expensive - but the last runs of this console command huge sums on eBay, perhaps in part due to the infamous, encompassing firmware that's compatible with multiple consoles. I've got the RetroUSB AVS and am quite happy with it, but the S-Video and RCA jacks on the back of the Nt mini are very tempting.

Playmobil Pro - Now Available

PlaymobilPro!Via Playmobil: Playmobil Pro. Set availability varies by region (only one set is in the USA) and these are meant for corporate and professional situations. Also it's very expensive. The box is loaded with unique plain white figures as well as a number of accessories and more animals than I've ever seen in one place along with a handy storage case. It's not priced for kids and arguably not for collectors, either.

A User Guide shows you everything in the box. And we hope you have a boss you can talk into buying one of these.

Coronavirus vs. Pop Culture

16bit.com>NopeThis is less for you today than it is for me when I read this in the future, but lots of things are being canceled. We're hearing gatherings near Seattle of 250 or more people are stopping due to Coronavirus, COVID-19. We're already dealing with fallout from China over their ongoing situation, but we're also seeing the NBA cancel games, while New York's talk show circuit and the NCAA March Madness will go without an audience - and so will the Democratic Debate this weekend. Reports of food, water, and hygiene-related paper products in short supply vary from city to city, and schools may or may not be closed. Coachella is off, and so are countless other events like E3, Anime Japan, and Emerald City Comic Con. And a number of smaller conventions for games.

There's no real point to this beyond saying that online communities will no doubt be more important this year as we have "virtual" con events - like Funko is doing with ECCC - and we keep in touch over Xbox Live or whatever the hip messenger the kids are using these days is. Some exclusives may be sold online, or delayed, or held for future events - whenever those events may take place. So support your favorite small to medium businesses, pick up new stuff as you can, and maybe pick up some old stuff too if you can swing it.

So many things are on deck this year that we haven't heard about being canceled (yet) - Anime Expo, San Diego Comic-Con International, Star Trek Las Vegas, Star Wars Celebration, and New York Comic Con come to mind. Keep your calendars open, be sure to check your travel cancellation policies, and stay safe as we all keep doing what we're doing and hopefully have plenty to write about while we contemplate being stuck at home for a few weeks.

It's still plenty interesting out and about - Ross, TJ Maxx, and Five Below all have a bunch of discounted Jurassic World stuff. New deliveries continue to happen all the time. (I'm not seeing any clearance Pixar Kleenex this year, but such is life.)

LEGO Super Mario Is a Toy... and a Game

NintendoDo the Mario?Via LEGO: It's (almost) LEGO Super Mario time! A Mario figure with some screens in him hops around game areas you build. The designs are a hybrid of Nintendo and LEGO, seeming like they're doing neither any favors.

I bet this will be a hit when the products hit in late 2020, but it reminds me just how much I love regular LEGO sets and Mario games. The combination isn't for me, but I'm old - I've got my old man toys still.

Siege Omega Supreme Upgrade - More Tracks from Nonnef

TransformersMake TracksVia Nonnef: Omega Supreme Tracks (backordered). It's $34.99, and greatly expands the size of Transformers War for Cybertron Siege Omega Supreme's tracks.

The full set is lighter than the regular tracks, but you get quite a few pieces - I'm not sure if it's enough to trick out both sides of the base, but it might be. Connectors, support pillars, adapters for Siege toys, and more are included - it seems like a lot of plastic for the price.

Free Fun ICYMI: NES Böbl ROM from Micro Mages Devs

NintendoNoirVia NesDev: Böbl from Morphcat Games. It's a platform game (or maybe even Metroidvania) where you're a bubble, and you have to stay in the water. COVID Movie Delays

MoviesWonder If It's Coming in AugustVia CNET: Coronavirus movie delays: The blockbusters postponed by health fears. It's a big list of productions that almost came out and aren't even done shooting yet.

It's by no means complete - Bill & Ted Face the Music isn't here, anyway - and that was set for August. Speculation in Ye Olde Toy Biz seems to assume big gatherings are unlikely until later this year, so it's a safe bet theatrical movie releases could be put off until late summer or even the holidays. It's possible toy releases will also be postponed, with movies and manufacturing delays (and mass retail) giving everybody a reason to postpone a lot of stuff.

Movies Delayed - New Ghostbusters and Morbius, Now 2021

MoviesPro!Via Deadline: Sony Postpones Release Dates For 'Ghostbusters: Afterlife', 'Morbius' And More Due To Coronavirus. To save you a click, Ghostbusters and Morbius are both pushed to May 2021.

With toys and other things planned for these movies, it could be possible things will show up in stores very soon - street dates were already in flux for some items, and it's possible this could be like G.I. Joe Retaliation where toys showed up, were pulled or went on clearance, and came back later around the time of the theatrical release.

What's interesting to note, for those keeping track, is how far out things are being pushed. These movies were both originally set for July 2021. In the last week we've seen the Olympics postponed until next year, the Detroit Auto Show cancelled, and a number of other things moved or pushed back. Some studios have new movies delayed until August but it's not unthinkable that they could be delayed a second time.
