4 more all-new characters were teased as part of this year's 50th Anniversary for the original The Outer Space Men. Price and date aren't listed, but here's hoping it'll be soon - before her, there are 2 more glowing figures and 3 more White Star figures. And whatever else is on deck.

The list has 108 Kmarts and 42 Sears stores. For those of you who aren't old, back in the 1970s and 1980s the catalog juggernaut was one of very few companies to have exclusive toys - something we take for granted at Target, Toys R Us, Walmart, and Walgreens today. Kmart used to be the big deal retailer across the USA, although Walmart really gave them a beating in the 1990s. If you haven't been to either lately, you might as well - your opportunities will expire while you wait.

Hi everybody! As you may or may not know, I've been writing about Star Wars toys online for about 21 1/2 years. For the past 15 years, it's been here at Galactic Hunter, and also at 16bit.com. What you might not know is that just this last week, the keys to the server were handed over to me. Also, the bills to the server.
If you've been enjoying this site and all the toy news from the past 21 years, I'd love it if you could chip in via Patreon and help us out. We're hoping to get about $30 per month - this will keep Q&A and Figure of the Day flowing, and keep the archives online for as long as humanly possible. In a perfect world, we'd raise more and set up a fund to keep us up until long after we're all gone.
If you've got a dollar a month to share, please Visit the Galactic Hunter Patreon and help pay our server costs. I'll still put in hours of work, writing, photography, and research for you - I just need some help making sure that the site costs me only time, and not money. Thanks for your support!
Rewards include sneak peeks to what we're working on and early access to Q&A as soon as it's written.

Via Primary Information: UJ3RK5: Live From The Commodore Ballroom. This surprisingly cheap double LP is 55 minutes of a show you most likely never heard, from a band you'd only know if you got one of my mix CDs or are intimately familiar with each and every band covered by Servotron or Man or Astro-Man? in the 1990s. It's a small Canadian New Wave/Punk act that is both and neither, who released but one EP and had two songs on a collection once. So, at best, you've heard 6 of their songs.
This edition of 600 LP sets contains 12 songs, 7 of which are new to me. I ordered one. I'm excited.

"The squirrels of the forest grew poorer and more starved each day that passed thanks to the tyrant King Louis the Umpteenth. It is up to you to raise an army to overthrow the king and set the world right again. Embark on an nutty journey filled with a strange cast of characters through a historically inaccurate retelling of the French Revolution with squirrels. If you are a fan of turn based strategy games and want something different from the status quo, this game is for you. The deceptively simple to learn rules of the game lead to a varied set of strategies that you can employ to defeat your enemy and march on."

Via Hasbro: Transformers: Power of the Primes Voting. This is a poll to elect the next ruler of Cybertron, which probably means big changes in the comics and a new toy.
There aren't many new characters here - "Unknown Evil" could be anything (like Deathsaurus), but everybody else has had at least one toy somewhere on Earth in the past decade. Star Saber has not had a transforming toy in the USA, though, so he could be of considerable interest, particularly given the nature of the comic character relating to the current state of world politics.

Via Funko: London Toy Fair Reveals: 90s Nickelodeon Pop!s!Aaahh!!! Real Monsters, CatDog, and the ever-popular Rugrats are included in this round of art updates. But what if you don't know what these are?
Nickelodeon invested wisely in itself in the early 1990s. Shows like Rugrats (a show about talking babies) and Doug (adolescent angst, minus the angst) were two early hits with decent runs. The break-out hit was Ren & Stimpy, which probably needs no introduction as one of the amazing cultural moments of that part of the decade. Other programs like Rocko's Modern Life would be added to an ever-growing programming block which incorporated dozens of new shows and spin-offs that would result in "Nicktoons" growing into a popular brand of its own for quite some time. Many of the shows shared the same animation house style from Klasky Csupo, who'd also contribute such things like Duckman on USA and at least one Frank Zappa album cover. The shows ranged from standard kiddie fare to bizarre programs with a flare of the subversive - Rocko was a genuinely weird and funny show, while Rugrats picked on the foibles of adulthood with a soundtrack by Devo's Mark Mothersbaugh.
It was good TV.
This is one of the reasons these are pretty nifty. Aaahh!!! Real Monsters particularly so - it wasn't a mega-hit, but there's a lot of neat stuff in its orbit. The monsters were kids, and their teacher took inspiration from The Rocky Horror Picture Show as the program began its ascent from cult midnight movie to regular cable rotation in that era. Also you toy dorks might like to know that many of the Aaahh!!! Real Monsters toys from Mattel shared an inventor with The Outer Space Men. Many of the designs and gimmicks found on those toys came from Mel Birnkrant!
