It's a really cool sack of figures! The Tim Mee Toys Green and Grey Legendary Battle Figure Set are bigger than most army men you buy, but they're also crisper and have wonderful sculpts. You should get these. Read on and come back Monday for more!
This week's batch of titles on the 3DS eShop: Up for the Nintendo 3DS Virtual Console: Bionic Commando: Elite Forces from the GameBoy Color. It is $5.99 and is, surprisingly, developed by Nintendo and not Capcom.

This came out in November, but apparently I missed it. A Freezepop 15th Anniversary USB Drive: Ultra*Spectacular Bonanza - $35 is worth a look if you're a fan of this band, because it contains legit MP3 copies of pretty much every song they've released - and some they haven't - on a stick.
159 songs, but as someone who bought all the CDs (yes CDs) I went ahead and ordered one anyway. It looks like at least a couple dozen tracks that were never on CD, or were exclusive to compilations, are available here or on their free Covers EP. I am looking forward to its arrival, and I hope other indie bands take note and put out similar things - I'd rather give a band I love $35 for a USB stick with some exclusive stuff than contemplate a dump somewhere to find rare tracks or international bonus songs when such things are not available for sale.
If you can build with Glyos, you should check this out - the prize pack is considerable and given there aren't many Glyos collectors, your odds aren't exactly terrible.

Xbox fans, it's time to download Resident Evil, a $19.99 download that you can pre-buy but not play until January 20. Microsoft says:
"The game that defined the survival-horror genre is back! Check out the remastered HD version of Resident Evil. In 1998 a special forces team is sent to investigate some bizarre murders on the outskirts of Raccoon City. Upon arriving they are attacked by a pack of blood-thirsty dogs and are forced to take cover in a nearby mansion. But the scent of death hangs heavy in the air. Supplies are scarce as they struggle to stay alive."

Brown! The Tim Mee Toys Brown Backwoods Battle Frontiersmen Figure Set are not as good as the other Tim Mee guys we've reviewed, which were largely exceptional. This is a bit more on par with what you expect with the whole bag or troops toy thing. Read on and come back Monday for more!

Up for the Nintendo 3DS Virtual Console: Adventures of Lolo from the NES. It is $4.99 and its lead character was repurposed as a boss in the Kirby games... but it's also a really fun puzzler you ought to try out.

Check them out, they're looking great. OMFG series 4 is due to ship in a couple of months, so it's looking like another great year for small collectible figures. No word yet on when the Kickstarter funding begins for the next series, but as always stay tuned to whatever web site you read for news on this kind of stuff for more as it happens.
The most amazing thing here is that it's a Kmart exclusive set, and it's $79.99. The last time these were out they were much cheaper, and recent eBay sales of the last round of reissues are around $50. If you're in the market for these guys and are angry you can't get them at a Kmart, because it closed, the secondary market may actually be the much cheaper option for you here. Also keep in mind these are the same size as Generations Legends toys, of which Skrapnel and Bombshell are potentially at a Target near you still. I saw both on Sunday for $9.99 each.

One of my favorite TV shows - which basically fell out of favor due to new seasons becoming less frequent than other even spottier things - is back for one week next week! An hour-long special airs Monday, January 19 2015. It looks a lot like this.
This "Space Special" is the first new thing to air since season 5 wrapped in July of 2013, and no release date has been confirmed for season 6. This means we're going to get to a point where we'll probably have as many or more Star Wars movies per year than Venture Bros epsiodes, but hey, that's one more than we got last year.

Xbox fans, it's time to download Funk of Titans, a $12.49 download in which you can presumably enter a 1970s action movie. Microsoft says:
"Funk of Titans is a thrilling and addictive game, simple and fun to play but hard to master. You will control Perseus, the son of Zeus and protector of the legendary holy music: the Funk. Run across the ancient greek mythology, risk your life jumping over crazy platforms, collect funk vinyls, beat enemies, wear epic costumes, ride the legendary Pegasus and smash the rap, the pop and the rock of the evil Musical Titans in fierce dance battles. Only one music can survive and the Funk is the music of the gods."

There's a lot of weirdness in this line, including denial of things we saw (Aliens, Monsters) - this confirms the designs, some of the heat, and that season 5 was indeed produced. (I've seen packaged samples, but never for sale.) This is must-see/must-read stuff.
Generally Hasbro offered up options from which you could pick things like color, faction, gender, and more - so odds are we won't be able to get into the nitty gritty for each character. The release is set for 2016, which hopefully means more classic combiners will make appearances between now and whenever the line ends. Although, to be honest, I'm hard-pressed to name what I'd like to see as alt modes that we don't more or less already have in some form or another. Sharkticons? That'd be fun.

New and newish announcements include a Combiner Wars IDW Devastator, Warpath as a Legends figure, Masterpiece Ironhide, and a redeco of Combiner Wars Powerglide in purple. Is any of it true? Well, we'll have to wait and see what shows at Toy Fair, but it's certainly very interesting. Take it with a grain of salt, but given some of the details and the timing it's certainly worth a read.
"All Coins will be deleted when Club Nintendo accounts are closed on July 1, 2015. As a result, to give our members the best opportunity to use their Coins, we will add dozens of downloadable games and a limited quantity of exclusive reward items to the rewards catalog in February. In addition, as a small token of appreciation for your loyalty, all Club Nintendo members will receive a free download code for Flipnote Studio 3D in February 2015."

"Don a Link or Ravio cap for the next Comic-Con or gaming convention and draw envious stares and desirous glares from the rabble in their raggedy homemade wearables that are a shadow of the official versions from Furyu. The caps measure 30cm across or 11.81" which should fit most human heads. Preorders are welcome to ship in late December 2014."

There are a few deco changes, but the most significant one is the appearance of Slingshot instead of Alpha Bravo. There are also white hands and feet for the combined mode. Or, you can just get the US one for presumably a fraction of the price, but we'll see.

I'm not sure where it came from but it certainly looks similar to the parrot shots, so I'm going to say it's legit and link you to it. I have no idea if it's real for sure, or when it's coming, but hey - that's what it looks like.
Transformers Combiner Wars Wildrider, Slingshot Coming to US?
Via TFW2005: Toys R Us Listings For Combiner Wars Slingshot And Wildrider! These are just semi-verified listings in a computer, but given the names and prices it's expected that they may be a) exclusive and/or b) Combiner Wars limbs of some sort.
No real details are known yet but the sources seem historically sound - we just don't know what these are for sure, or if/when they're coming to the USA.

Transformers Fan Vote Open, Legends Rodimus Revealed
The Transformers Official App has been updated with the first round of fan voting - you can pick alt modes.
The good news is you get a first peek at Hot Spot and Groove's alt modes. The bad news is it's because that's what you're voting for - 3 different existing bodies. Will the limbs be new? Or all repaints? We have no idea yet, but start voting.
Also noteworthy, Legends Rodimus and Legends Skywarp were revealed on Hasbro's German site. While both "rumored," this is the first we've seen of the pair. Which probably means we'll see a few more reveals prior to Toy Fair.
The new Armorvors are Neo Granthans - or really, the first mass-produced Granthans. The God Beast sold some custom-molded heads a few years ago, which we'll be trotting out here again shortly for your pleasure.

A Kickstarter-exclusive figure is $20. A set of 4 different colors is $80. There are bonus accessory sets, pins, and also may have Glyos compatibility - the way it's written, it seems that they're working on it. The modest enterprise is already 50% funded so odds are it's going to come to pass. Shipping is estimated for September.
Via German Toy Fair: Combiner Wars Devastator Photo. For various reasons I'm going with "alleged," because you've probably seen more footage of Bigfoot than this toy.
There's a bigger picture, but that's all you're going to see - some green, some purple, and a dude in front of it. This item has not yet been confirmed by anybody, but this image is making the rounds and odds are the rest of the image will show up pretty soon.
Xbox fans, it's time to try Dying Light, a $59.99 download with dead things or something. Microsoft says:
"Dying Light is a first-person, action survival game set in a vast open world. Roam a city devastated by a mysterious epidemic, scavenging for supplies and crafting weapons to help defeat the hordes of flesh-hungry enemies the plague has created. At night, beware the Infected as they grow in strength and even more lethal nocturnal predators leave their nests to feed on their prey. Live to survive another day. Good Night, Good Luck."
