New arms! The Onell Design Glyos Red Swing Joint Set a really neat upgrade, but it'll take two sets and $8 to upgrade an $8 Glyan. Glyos fans will love it, and it makes a fun, durable and nicely jointed figure. So read on, and come back tomorrow for more!

Takara-Tomy Doing New Animal Crossing Toys in Japan
Coming from Japan, NCS has imports of Tobidasu Animal Crossing Character Collection Sets for $11ish each, with bigger sets at higher prices. Numerous pieces of furniture and housewares join these figures which, obviously, have no US plans for release just yet. It's possible Jakks Pacific might release them next year under their new licensing agreement, but this is unlikely and also rampant unsourced speculation. I suggest importing 'em if you want 'em, and be sure to check it out.

Xbox fans, it's time to download Far Cry 3 Blood Dragon, a $15/1,200-point shooter filled with, uh, Michael Biehn. Microsoft says:
"Playing Far Cry 3 Blood Dragon doesn't require a copy of Far Cry 3. Far Cry 3 Blood Dragon is THE Kick-Ass Cyber Shooter taking place on a bizarre open-world island crawling with evil. Welcome to an 80's VHS vision of the future. The year is 2007 and you are Sargent Rex Colt, a Mark IV Cyber Commando who's fighting against a cyborg army gone rogue. Your mission: get the girl, kill the baddies, and save the world. Experience every cliché of a VHS era vision of a nuclear future, where cyborgs, blood dragons, mutants, and Michael Biehn (Terminator, Aliens, Navy Seals) collide."

Review: Mattel Masters of the Universe Classics King He-Man
Something new every day-- unless it's old! Our 16bit.com Figure of the Day continues for you lucky people! Is there anything we won't cover in this column? Probably not!
He's the Old Man! The Mattel Masters of the Universe Classics King He-Man is the He-Man of the future, complete with rusty, taped-together sword, a scar, and a scruffy beard. It's awesome. So read on, read our Star Wars one too, and come back soon for more!
Man of Steel Movie Masters, Walmart Exclusive Light-Ups Hitting
In stores now! Walmart Exclusive Man of Steel Light-Up Action Figures are on eBay, as I can't seem to find an official story about them. Each 3 3/4-inch boxed figure is about $9.96 and has clear parts that light up, like a hand or a chest. It's pretty striking in person, and the packaging is inviting.
Also appearing were the first Man of Steel Movie Masters action figures, of which I saw Superman and Zod at a Walmart. Jor-El is available as well.
Coming soon, i09 revealed the Iron Man 3 Movie Marvel Legends Mandarin Action Figure. Exciting! The likeness looks quite good and the figure, according to the article, will be in the retail legends assortment (of which wave 2 is now shipping).
Some of the 16bit.com team saw the film over the weekend, and we quite enjoyed it. Kingsley's take on the character was really fantastic, and the flick was quite entertaining for a #3 (or a #1, really.)

The last new release was several years ago and since then, the title "Dude, Incredible" has been floated around more than a few times. No release date is as of yet available.
These will appear in the Generations assortments which currently feature the "discs" for Soundwave and Blaster, following-up the supposedly released (or upcoming) Bumblebee and Optimus Prime toys. Seeing the bugs as "targetmaster"-type toys is brilliant, and it seems they may be 5-mm instead of 3-mm pegs. Which would be doubly awesome. Speaking of which, those two new guys are in-stock at Amazon right now along with Kreon gift packs and a new-to-me Transformers Kre-O Bucket with some figures.

3 modes, 3 faces! The Hasbro Transformers Generations 30th Anniversary Blitzwing a hot new release that looks better than it is. The hips on mine were super loose, plus fitting it together isn't as easy or satisfying as other recent toys. So read on, and come back tomorrow for more!
$69.99, 5 1/2-inches high, male, female, and unique bases. Truly, the future is here. Sort of. They did this with Star Wars via Disney but this lets you just use an app and do it by mail, which is a heck of a lot less work and less expensive than a theme park visit.
The new Star Trek Select Figures from Diamond are also on the way, and Diamond sent us shots of Kirk and Spock both in and out of the packaging.
These are really fancy, and you may have seen early shots in our Toy Fair and C2E2 coverage. Check out the new pictures!

The Great Monzo posted the famous Napkins of Revelation, a document which was the original document that provided the germ for the line which would go on to become 2005's Transformers Cybertron toy line. While fans have seen one side, this may be the first time both sides were ever seen. Fancy!
It was drawn by Aaron Archer, a Transformers designer (and later executive) at Hasbro who has just recently left the company. Not only did he give us Hot Shot, but he's been a generally awesome presence in the fandom and in Shortpacked! comics lore over the years.
Known to many as the guy behind It's Walky!, Roomies, Joyce & Walky, and Shortpacked, the also-hugely-popular Dumbing of Age has a book up on Kickstarter. Dumbing of Age: The Second Book Collection is up now and fast approaching its $15,000 goal - it already passed $8,000 at press time and could reach it in a few days!
It is called I Beg You, Don't Cast Your Body Into the Cragged Shame Puts of the Lust Wolves and the lowest pledge to get a hardcopy of the book is $26. (PDFs are much cheaper pledge levels, but you can also read the comic on his web site for free. So buy a book.)The bonus is if he hits $20,000, he does Saturday comics increasing his workload by about 20%. So I guess if you want to see him dance, kick in some money.

Mattel Reinvents the Chase Figure with Spirit of Hordak
Now this is annoying. A new non-subscription, unannounced, randomly-appearing figure called the Spirit of Hordak will be up randomly on Mattycollector.com.
While down at press time, this is what Matty says: "This all-clear figure features painted red eyes, chest emblem and removable armband, and comes with a fan-demanded Hordak cross bow in vintage white. Trust us, this visitor from the dark dimension is up to no goodŠ but you'll have to get the figure to see his complete bio. Straight from the 2013 mini-comic, "The Secret Origin of Skeletor," this highly collectable figure is not available with Club Eternia subscriptions or even during regular monthly sales, so make sure you check back often to try to catch him the next time he decides to project onto this page!"
ŠI've preemptively given up on getting one of these. (And I thought Treasure Hunts were a pain.)
Review: Mattel Masters of the Universe Classics Jitsu
Something new every day-- unless it's old! Our 16bit.com Figure of the Day continues for you lucky people! Is there anything we won't cover in this column? Probably not!
Behold, the other giant-fisted warrior! The Mattel Masters of the Universe Classics Jitsu figure is a throwback to the 1980s where characters could be whittled down to a unique trait, like having a skull for a face, earning a nickname based on a deformity or prosthesis, or being Asian. So read on, read our Star Wars one too, and come back soon for more!
In stores now! With precious few items on deck, the Star Trek Fighter Pods Enterprise may be one of the last new movie toys we see for a while unless Hasbro has a surprise 3 3/4-inch action figure line up its sleeve. This vehicle has an opening Bridge so there's a playset element, plus storage in each nacelle and a launching "attack pod" feature/ In many respects, the Star Trek line seems to be a much more evolved version of what we saw starting on Star Wars. There's still no "game" to it but the new Trek toys seem engineered to do more other than just knock down other figures.
Also, it appears that this item might be part of a line with no "mystery" toys, which is actually quite exciting as it means a normal human can collect them without wasting a ton of money on blind bags. (Correct me if I'm wrong here.)
New Transformers Generations Bumblebee, Optimus Prime Found
They're out! Target stores are getting Optimus Prime and Bumblebee from the 30th Anniversary line, which it turns out is just the previous "Generations" line with new branding on the box. Same assortment, new toys. Optimus will be in FOTD later this week.
Other notes: Hasbro showed Sandstorm on Facebook and it looks like it'll be a fairly extensive remold of Springer. Super-extensive. Also, I saw Walmarts putting out Springer and Blitzwing, so good hunting.

Panda-monium? No, that's too easy. Something new every day-- unless it's old! Our exciting Figure of the Day continues for you lucky people! Is there anything we won't cover in this column? Probably not!
Grown so ugly! The Mattel Masters of the Universe Classics Ram Man may be the most important figure of the year given his rich history and general beloved-by-fan-ness. He's also quite ugly, but perfectly so. It's worth tracking down and a crying shame Mattel couldn't make a bigger run, so says eBay to the tune of $60-$70. So read on and come back tomorrow for more!
While not explicitly Star Wars, I think some of you who do toy runs may find this of interest. If you live in a medium or large town, you might have one or more empty shells which were formerly a Kmart or a Sears nearby. According to DataCenterKnowledge.com, these buildings may be converted not to another big box store but to a data center.
From TFA:
"With the creation of Ubiquity Critical Environments, Sears hopes to convert the retail icons of the 20th century into the Internet infrastructure to power the 21st century digital economy. Sears Holdings has one of the largest real estate portfolios in the country, with 3,200 properties spanning 25 million square feet of space. That includes dozens of Sears and Kmart stores that have been closed over the years."
"PURPOSE: Club Mordle guarantees you the chance to purchase ONE of each and every release-version MORDLES action figure, set, and accessory!"
It's $10 to join and includes a something. A non-toy something. It allows you to buy things early, sort of like pre-ordering, but slightly differently. It's an innovative business model for the DTC market, and worth reading because you know someone is going to steal it sooner or later. Check it out.
This week's Wii U offerings: The Wii U Virtual Console has launched with Kirby's Dream Land 3, Kirby Super Star, and Kirby's Dream Course for $7.99 per. Not bad for Super NES classics. I am also reading there's a sale on these: buy 2, get the 3rd free. That's not bad.
This week's batch on the DSiWare Shop: 3DS eShop games include Donkey Kong Country Returns 3D, Naruto Powerful Shippuden, and Groove Heaven. No classic retro crazy downloadables this week, kids.

Released a while ago (but under our radar) is the Mattel Hot Wheels HW Imagination U.S.S. Enterprise which we actually found over the weekend. (A full review is in the works, of course.) For the price, you won't find a cheaper non-clearance non-broken brand-new sci-fi toy this year.
It's #40 of 250 in this year's basic Hot Wheels assortments, and would still be a good deal at twice the price.
Doomkick.com revealed an Exclusive Colorway Reveal on Sunday, which had two big surprises: one, the blue figures have yellow eyes. Two, they also have yellow claws.
This looks a heck of a lot cooler than what I'd have been expecting, so be sure to check out the close-ups for the full picture.

Comedy dorks take note (and you knew this): Carlos Alazraqui (Rocko) was on Reno 911!, and Tom Kenny (Heffer) is on everything worth seeing, pretty much.
Given the many levels of irony, comedy, and verbal sleight of hand, it's hard to tell exactly where Chris Hardwick stands on his love of, role in, and future with nerd culture. On his album Mandroid we get a brief resume of his career and, much like Paul F. Tompkins' Impersonal album, we also get a revue of the best of his material over the last decade or so. If you've followed Mr. Hardwick's stand-up act you'll recognize "Twilight the Vampire," "Old Sperm Babies," and other bits from his many appearances on stages across America. If not, you're in for a feast of comedy riches. [ READ THE FULL REVIEW ]

It's another chance! 1989 Tim Burton Batmobile vehicles are coming back to Hot Wheels assortments right about nowish. It seems to be a new tool with slightly different deco, which I believe was sold last around 2004.
This is one of several possible Batmobile vehicles you'll find for about $1 today, including other versions in Hot Wheels packaging plus a swell silvery grey Matchbox one. Yes, Matchbox. The new 1989-ish Batmobile is showing up en masse on eBay right now, meaning mortals and those who don't wait outside stores to open will see it in a month or three.
