Universal Monsters Minimates and Banks! The folks at Diamond Select Toys sent us new Universal Monsters Bust Banks and hot damn are they nice! I was sent a couple of the Star Wars ones and Boba Fett is truly a fine piece of plastic-- from the pictures, the Creature from the Black Lagoon and Frankenstein's Monster look just about as great, if not a little better. These 8-inch vinyl banks are currently scheduled for September.
Four new packs of Minimates are coming, two each for Toys R Us and the specialty market. Toys "R" Us will get the 2-packs. From The Mummy is Princess Anck-es-en-Amon, bundled with archaeologist Henry Whemple. The other will present Lon Chaney as Quasimodo and Boris Karloff as Im-Ho-Tep in black-and-white.
The 4-packs are based on The Hunchback of Notre Dame and The Mummy, and each of which is in full color. The sarcophagus is particularly awesome, and it's great to see it coming! All the Minimates should be out in or around September.
