|
Something new every day-- unless it's old! Our exciting Figure of the Day continues for you lucky people! Is there anything we won't cover in this column? Probably not!
Sold out! Hasbro Transformers Legacy Evolution Armada Universe Powerlinx Hot Shot and Jolt is a repaint of a good toy, but with tons of accessories - and I lucked into it on sale. Is it worth $20 extra to get a couple of blasters, a Mini-Con, and blast effects? Read on!

Axiom Verge Turns 10: Retronauts
|
This week on Retronauts: Retronauts Episode 680: Axiom Verge. This new retro-themed game is no longer new - it turns 10 years old, qualifying for your favorite retro podcast, probably. I'm just over an hour into it right now, and it's an excellent listen if you played the game. It reminds me that I want to play through it again, it's really fun and on Switch, PC, PS4, Xbox, and it was on Wii U too.
I see it's $4.99 on Steam and $19.99 on Switch. According to the podcast, the PC version has more patches and seeds, so you might want to try that one. I own the Switch version.

Nintendo World Championships: Week 38
|
Via Nintendo: Competition #38 is on now in Nintendo World Championships: NES Edition. It was a fun week, but the trophies lacked variety.
This week:
Hammer Bro KO (Super Mario Bros. 3) - in which you hammer a brother.
Sub-Space Exploration (Super Mario Bros. 2) - in which you do mushrooms at night.
Heating Up (Excitebike) - in which you overheat.
Jumping Jacks (Donkey Kong) - in which you don't fall too far.
Monochrome Hero (Kirby's Adventure) - in which you run through the jungle - or that one level of an NES game that looks like a Game Boy game.
It took me a while to get the gold trophy last week, but this was a pretty easy week. Two of the challenges - Sub-Space Exploration and Heating Up - are on both trophies.

Star Wars Review: Darth Vader (Epic World of Action)
|
Via the Star Wars Galactic Hunter Figure of the Day Blog: Darth Vader (Epic World of Action). The 2025 model has more motion at the shoulders and hips, plus adds knee and elbow joints. The lightsaber is overpowered too, take a look at the energy bolts coming from it - it's pretty cool, and hopefully will be in a store near you soon. Read the whole review.

Review: Playing Mantis Johnny Lightning The Challengers Custom Turbine (Aqua)
|
Something new every day-- unless it's old! Our exciting Figure of the Day continues for you lucky people! Is there anything we won't cover in this column? Probably not!
Spin to win! The Playing Mantis Johnny Lightning The Challengers Custom Turbine (Aqua) does not actually have a spinning turbine, but the wheels roll well and I love that bubble dome. Also, this is a 1995 reissue of a car toy from the 1970s, which is worth under $5 today. So you can afford it! Read on, and come back tomorrow for more fun!
