We posted this stuff to our Tumblr on Saturday, but why let it fade away? Here are a bunch of new toys from Hasbro, as revealed at Botcon 2013! We weren't at the show, but here's the skinny.
Transformers Generations Legends 2-Packs
The Legends line continues with 4-inch robots which will be joined by Micromaster-inspired sidekicks. Shown here are Swerve with his partner Sky High, plus Cosmos with Blast Master. Not shown (but announced) were Tailgate with Groundpounder plus Sharpshot with Reflector. Sharpshot is an Insecticon based on G1 Shrapnel.
Transformers Generations Deluxe
Generations continues, with more new toys to follow up this rather slow-in-2013 SKU. G2 Dreadwing (from the upcoming Megatron mold) is en route, as is Goldfire, a Bumblebee redeco inspired by G1 Goldbug. Beast Wars Waspinator will get a new mold, and Skids from the original series of toys will get a long-deserved update. Not shown: Armada Starscream, Fall of Cybertron Skywarp, and Scoop.
Transformers Generations Voyager
At the increasingly more common larger price point, we'll see Doubledealer, a G1 Powermaster, based on the current Blitzwing mold. We'll also see an all-new mold for Rhinox from Beast Wars, complete with chain guns. A Whirl toy will be released in 2014, but pictures were not shared.
While not discussed in the panel as far as I know, Hasbro recently solicited a new Transformers Generations Voyager wave to its customers which brings back the hard-to-find Blaster, Grimlock, Soundwave, and more Springers.
Transformers Beast Hunters Legion
The smallest price point continues with the green Rot Gut, the feathered fiend Dive Bomb, Bluestreak, and an Elite Air Vehicon.
Transformers Beast Hunters Commander Class
Here are where some fun surprises come in - Bludgeon gets a new toy! Ultra Magnus and Unicron Megatron get a little more love too, but it's really all about Bludgeon.
Transformers Beast Hunters Deluxe Class
Now this is where I got confused - the standard deluxes continue, and there will be new, simplified deluxe toys too. Characters in the mix include Bumblebee, Smokescreen, Twinstrike, and Windrazor. I don't have info on if they'll all be in the same assortment, or if they will be broken out in a new, simple, and also cheaper shipping assortment. Prowl was mentioned in the press materials but photos were not supplied.
Transformers Beast Hunters Voyager Class
New versions of Optimus Prime and Predaking were shown, and Optimus has a swell new shield.
Transformers Construct-Bots Elite
The line debuted at Toy Fair 2013, and will continue with more new releases. Shown here are Dragstrip, Shockwave, and Smokescreen. They're not normal toys, but are more construction figures similar to Bionicle or Hero Factory. You can swap parts, remove faction logos, and basically customize your own transforming toy. Now I don't know if you'll be doing this, but you can.
And that's it for the new reveal press materials! For more, check out our home page or your other favorite toy news sites.
