Review: Hasbro Transformers Generations War for Cybertron Earthrise Deluxe Trailbreaker Action Figure
Something new every day-- unless it's old! Our exciting Figure of the Day continues for you lucky people! Is there anything we won't cover in this column? Probably not!
It needs to sell 8,000 units, and had 2,300 in short order. It was 5,094 around the time I posted this. I guess the question isn't "will it make it?" but rater, "how quickly will it make it?"

Ad: The Looney Tunes Big Chungus 9-Inch Plush is something that's based on a really old cartoon and a meme, so how can you go wrong? It's due around September.

Star Wars Review: GS-C1B (The Book of Boba Fett, Droid Factory)
Via the Star Wars Galactic Hunter Figure of the Day Blog: GS-C1B (The Book of Boba Fett, Droid Factory). The colors are good, the restraining bolt is missing, and it's mostly pretty excellent. And it sold out online, so if you can get one you should. Read the whole review.

Review: Mattel Jurassic World Rebirth Frenzy Pack Torvoneustes Action Figure
Something new every day-- unless it's old! Our exciting Figure of the Day continues for you lucky people! Is there anything we won't cover in this column? Probably not!
New! The Mattel Jurassic World Rebirth Frenzy Pack Torvoneustes Action Figure pretty new and currently easily had - go to a couple of Targets or Walmarts, you'll probably find one today. It's pretty amazing when you put it in historical context. 40 years ago, the only dinosaur toys you were likely to find were unarticulated, unpainted (or barely painted), and probably were a tiny bit cheaper than this. There were some fancy "models" with no paint too, so it's kind of amazing to get a painted, articulated dinosaur toy for under $10 in 2025. Even if you don't go to the movies this weekend, go to the store (or our ad links) and take a look at these guys. They're really nice. Do read on, and come back tomorrow for more fun!
Also notable, the Jurassic World micro adventures mini head playsets may already be on clearance at your local Target. Called it. (It's not a bad idea, it's just the same thing tanked when Hasbro did them 10 years ago for The Force Awakens.)
Star Wars Review: Joruus C'baoth (The Vintage Collection)
Via the Star Wars Galactic Hunter Figure of the Day Blog: Joruus C'baoth (The Vintage Collection). It's not Alan Moore, but it could be. It's a mad Jedi clone from a 1991 book, finally arriving to fulfill a name that's been on a lot of wish lists since the original Bush administration. Sadly, the set quickly sold out, but hopefully there will be demand for him to come back.

Classic Review: Hasbro Jurassic World Stegoceratops Action Figure
Something new every day-- but this was posted 10 years ago today! Our exciting Figure of the Day continues for you lucky people! Is there anything we won't cover in this column? Probably not!
Posted 10 years ago! The Hasbro Jurassic World Stegoceratops Action Figure came out in 2015 for a mere $11, and the endless IP recycling machine somehow makes this timely. There aren't nearly as many exclusive dinosaurs out for this weekend's new Jurassic World Rebirth, certainly not at Walmart, but Target has a few. And while there are hybrids, they're not quite as zany as what Hasbro was doing at the end of its line.
Do read on, and come back tomorrow for a new one!
We're taking donations for server costs! Really. One of the rewards is Q&A a few days early - you can read next Monday's installment as soon as it's ready, which can be as early as 1:00 AM my time on Monday!
If you've got a dollar a month to share, please Visit the Galactic Hunter Patreon and help cover our server costs. I'll still put in hours of work, writing, photography, and research - I just need some help making sure that the site costs me only time, and hopefully not money. Thanks for your support!
Review: Hasbro Transformers Age of the Primes Fisitron and Carnivac
Something new every day-- unless it's old! Our exciting Figure of the Day continues for you lucky people! Is there anything we won't cover in this column? Probably not!
It was around 5,100 at the end of the first day. Now, it's a bit beyond 6,500 with about 37 days to go. It sold under 100 units on Monday, but it'll pick up in coming weeks - especially when Hasbro puts it out at Comic-Con in a few weeks.
Svengoolie This Weekend: Invaders from Mars (1953)
Svengoolie's MeTV Movie this Saturday: Invaders from Mars (1953). It was remade in 1986 by Tobe Hooper, but this is the original which I am pretty sure I've never actually seen. The remake was bizarre and entertaining enough to make me want to check it out.
Since TV Guide is dead and I'm a fan of the idea of this kind of thing, I'd say you should consider watching. Be the weird middle-aged guy you were destined to be. Last weekend was Bela Lugosi in Return of the Vampire, which I am watching a little bit each night before bed. It's a serial number-filed-off sequel to Dracula from Columbia (not Univeral.)
This week:
Key of the Keese (The Legend of Zelda) - in which you go batty.
Sub-Space Exploration (Super Mario Bros. 2) - in which you go there.
Hit the Bricks (Super Mario Bros.) - in which you hit bricks.
Unidentified Flying Kirby (Kirby's Adventure) - in which the government denies you exist.
Kong Crusher (Donkey Kong) - in which you make out in front of an ape.
It wasn't that hard to get the trophies, but hey, it's fun to zip through these. I honestly can't tell you the last time I bought a game that I was still playing a year later, even if it's just for a 20-30-minute challenge check-in. I got my money's worth here. (Related, also pulled Final Fantasy i & II: Dawn of Souls out again.)
Via the Star Wars Galactic Hunter Figure of the Day Blog: IT-0 Interrogation Droid (with Darth Vader, Epic Hero Series). It's on clearance! The Target exclusive set from last year gives you 2 basic carded figures with 2 exclusive droid sidekicks. The price has been anywhere from $9 to $20 with a few stops in between, and I'd strongly recommend it Read the whole review.
Also, The Galactic Hunter database has been repaired so the site is back online. I backfilled missing stories, so it should be all caught up. I am likely to keep the little 16bit-style hype labels on new stories, though, I think that's a good (readable) change. Thanks for your continued readership and support.

Stackable! The Mattel Hot Wheels Cone Shaker is new, and it's a traffic cone. If you have more than one, they're stackable - there's a hole in the bottom. It's a clever idea. Read on, and come back tomorrow for more fun!
Review: Super7 Universal Monsters Son of Frankenstein ReAction Figure
Something new every day-- unless it's old! Our exciting Figure of the Day continues for you lucky people! Is there anything we won't cover in this column? Probably not!
Old! The Super7 Universal Monsters Son of Frankenstein ReAction Figure takes Karloff's final outing as the Monster and gives him new clothes. The sculpting is similar to the previous version of the figure, but there are difference in the hair, the stitches, and even the size. I'd probably suggest buying them both if they're cheap, because they're surprisingly different in look and feel.
Via Limited Run Games: DOOM (SNES) launches tomorrow for a painful $99.99. It also includes rumble support, which is interesting given the Super NES didn't have rumble - that was new for the Playstation and Nintendo64. Limited Run will also be selling a Rumble Controller and I'm super duper curious how good it is just as a controller. Aftermarket controllers are hard to do right, and I like the idea of new challengers.
Allegedly, all of this stuff should ship late in February of next year. So you know, April/May.
Star Wars Review: Sandtrooper (The Retro Collection)
Via the Star Wars Galactic Hunter Figure of the Day Blog: Sandtrooper (The Retro Collection). This is a good one, with two gripping hands and a sculpt that looks like it would belong in the 1970s. He has that diamond knee design you'd expect, the shoulder pad is split to allow for movement, and it has a unique blaster. It's kind of a shame you can't buy these individually, I'd have picked up a few more. He's currently in a 6-pack at Target stores.

Something new every day-- but this was posted 10 years ago today! Our exciting Figure of the Day continues for you lucky people! Is there anything we won't cover in this column? Probably not!
Posted 10 years ago! The Takara-Tomy Transformers Adventure Roadblock came out in 2015 for about $25, which wasn't a great deal at the time. It was a recolor of Scoop, which was $12, and had one accessory taken out. I still bought it, I still have it, and I still like it - and I miss getting weird and cool recolors from other countries. It's over $50 today, but you're probably the kind of fan who wants construction vehicles in green and purple - and here's another one. Do read on, and come back tomorrow for a new one!
Over the weekend, Hasbro posted the first episode of Transformers Cyberworld on YouTube. Actual toys started shipping from online sellers a couple of weeks ago, so keep your eyes peeled on stores or, of course, just order them online. Until then, check this out.
Keep in mind, fellow olds, this is a show designed to sell $10-$50 toys to kids ages 4-11. It's colorful, introduces four toys in ten minutes, and is peppered with gags. It's a very good start.
ICYMI: Kogar's Jungle Juice Show #21 - Lux and Ivy's Favorites Special
Via Kogar the Swinging Ape on Blogspot: Kogar's Jungle Juice Show #21 - Lux and Ivy's Favorites Special. He took his "Lux & Ivy's Favorites" collections of songs The Cramps collected/mentioned/enjoyed, and made a 3-hour radio show out of it. You're probably driving somewhere this week, and you can download this and listen to it. Throw it on a USB stick and plug it in your car, you'll enjoy it.

Review: Hasbro Transformers Age of the Primes Voyager Autobot Red Alert
Something new every day-- unless it's old! Our exciting Figure of the Day continues for you lucky people! Is there anything we won't cover in this column? Probably not!
Newish! Hasbro Transformers Age of the Primes Voyager Autobot Red Alert hasn't been hanging around so much - it looks a lot like a toy from 2002 without the gimmicks. There are no Mini-Cons, no pizza disc launchers, no flip-out grapple projectiles, no digital frontier. But you do get a lot of articulation, a couple of swappable hand tools, and some of the stiffest joints I've come upon for a widely-distributed toy in America. It's neat, but you might be happy with the Red Alert toys you have. Read on!
It needs to sell 8,000 units. At the end of the first day, it had 5,100 units. A week ago, it was 6,500 units. Today, it's just under 6,900 units. It's a little slow - usually these get funded pretty quickly.
This week:
Half-Pipe (Super Mario Bros. 3) - in which these players out to get me 'cause they like my behind.
Quick Copy (Kirby's Adventure) - in which you totally suck.
Breakdown (Metroid) - in which you follow the bouncing ball.
Knuckle Sandwich (Zelda II: The Adventure of Link) - in which you stop the bad orange man.
Balloon Basher (Balloon Fight) - in which you pop a few balloons.
I got both trophies the first time - I'm surprised too! "Breakdown" from Metroid was this week's overlapping challenge. I wonder how long they'll keep updating these.
Star Wars Review: R0-1N6 (The Book of Boba Fett, Droid Factory)
Via the Star Wars Galactic Hunter Figure of the Day Blog: R0-1N6 (The Book of Boba Fett, Droid Factory). It loks a lot like a figure from a few years ago - but the drums are new. They're not an exact match for The Book of Boba Fett but given it's been about four years, odds are we'll not be getting a remake of this guy or many other character from the show. It's good enough for now, and pretty impressive what with its tiny arms and drumsticks. Read the whole review.
Something new every day-- unless it's old! Our exciting Figure of the Day continues for you lucky people! Is there anything we won't cover in this column? Probably not!
New! The Mattel Hot Wheels Decidedly Go is a Magic 8-Ball on wheels. It doesn't have the water, but it does have a clear base and a visible 8-sided die with the messages you might expect. For $1.25 it's a heck of a neat toy, and you might be able to find it in stores that sell $1.25 toy cars right now. It's worth tracking down. Read on, and come back tomorrow for more fun!
Good luck to the creative team - how this would work, I don't know. I'd just make a Gremlins rip-off where toy horses attack people on a budget of jack and squat.
Review: Super7 Planet of the Apes Astronaut Cornelius ReAction Figure
Something new every day-- unless it's old! Our exciting Figure of the Day continues for you lucky people! Is there anything we won't cover in this column? Probably not!
Old! The Super7 Planet of the Apes Astronaut Cornelius ReAction Figure is a spectacular sculpt and a really solid figure - which is sadly long sold out. The hard plastic helmet connects nicely, the limbs move well, and the space suit looks very similar to some used in the Star Wars Cantina. So of course, you want one. But it's expensive, and Super7 can't use the molds and no longer has the license. Get one if you see it.
Star Wars Review: Grand Admiral Thrawn (The Vintage Collection)
Via the Star Wars Galactic Hunter Figure of the Day Blog: Grand Admiral Thrawn (The Vintage Collection). It's a version designed to match Heir to the Empire - note the shoulder ornamentation and ysalamir - but it retained the unique collar ornamentation from Rebels and Ahsoka. In short, this is probably the Thrawn you were waiting for, unless you're waiting for a retro Kenner-style figure, in which case we're all still waiting. This Thrawn sold out quickly, and is part of a decent set of figures. If you can snag it, you probably should do so.

Via Walmart: Transformers Toys Autobot Seaspray, Retro G1-Inspired 5" Action Figure, 8+. The exclusive goes up July 24 at 7:00 AM Pacific and comes on a G1-style cardback. Walmart currently has Bumblebee and Gears figures as exclusives. Gears is most likely available at a Walmart somewhat near you.

Classic Review: Funko Bravest Warriors Pop! Television Catbug Vinyl Figure
Something new every day-- but this was posted 10 years ago today! Our exciting Figure of the Day continues for you lucky people! Is there anything we won't cover in this column? Probably not!
Posted 10 years ago! The Funko Bravest Warriors Pop! Television Catbug Vinyl Figure is cute and remains inexpensive. This was one of the first figures of the character - there aren't a ton of other ones - and it was a fun little show that I remember discovering as it streamed to my 3DS video channel. "I've got nothing else to do, may as well watch this" works.
Do read on, and come back tomorrow for a new one!
ICYMI: Combustible Edison Four Rooms on Vinyl, Clearance
Via Sundazed: Combustible Edison - Four Rooms Original Motion Picture Soundtrack - Black Vinyl 2LP. I haven't seen the movie, but I really love the 1990s band Combustible Edison. And they love the 1960s. Because they haven't put out much other than a really good demo collection (which I also found by accident), I had no idea this existed - and it's on sale for $24.99. This is not a sponsored link, more of an FYI because a double LP of a pretty great band was worth it. And someday I'll probably see the movie, if it shows up on a service I have. (I finally saw I Woke Up Early The Day I Died and it was... a 1990s indie movie.)
I threw in Sun Ra & His Arkestra - Space Is The Place Original Motion Picture Soundtrack because $31 for 3 LPs and a Blu-Ray was too cheap to not pick up (and I didn't know it existed, either.) Their TwinArt - Instant This / Instant That is also on sale, and I bought it at full price and enjoyed it. It's probably worth poking around if you also buy less-than-famous records. There's a lot of really interesting stuff out there and it's really hard to keep track of it all. If you're also the kind of person who hits up record stores, keep an eye on the sales bin and let me know what you find if it's cool, man, cool.

Review: Hasbro Transformers Age of the Primes Leader G2 Universe Grimlock and Autobot Wheelie
Something new every day-- unless it's old! Our exciting Figure of the Day continues for you lucky people! Is there anything we won't cover in this column? Probably not!
Up for pre-order Wednesday: Atari 2600+ Pac-Man Edition Console & Joystick. At $169.99 it's $40 higher than the regular version, and includes a different game cartridge. It sports the 2600 version of Pac-Man - which was problematic - and a new 7800 port. The system itself has unique coloring and a unique controller.
The 2600 port of Pac-Man is somewhat infamous for being one of the best-selling games of the decade. And terrible. It came out in 1980, which I guess makes this some sort of 45th anniversary item. They may as well. It's the 40th anniversary of the NES release in America this year, and as far as I can tell there are no plans to celebrate it, or Super Mario Bros., or any of it.
Also coming Wednesday is a 4-cartridge High Score Collection 7800 with Galaga, Dig-Dug, Xevious, and the aforementioned Pac-Man cartridge. It's $169.99.
Svengoolie This Weekend: Earth Girls Are Easy (1988)
Svengoolie's MeTV Movie this Saturday: Earth Girls Are Easy (1988). I've never seen it - but I guess I will now! Jeff Goldblum and Geena Davis and Damon Wayans and also Jim Carrey are in it. It was inspired by a song from Julie Brown that was on Dr. Demento a bunch.
Classic Review: Hasbro Revolution First Strike Comic Preview Mega-Set
Posted in 2017! The Hasbro Revolution First Strike Comic Preview Mega-Set is particularly fascinating in light of recent reveals. It had 9 miniature Micronauts - Biotron, Phenelo-Phi, Xant, Oberon, Time Traveler Quin-Tillus, Acroyear, Baron Karza, Betatron, and Gammatron. I knew who some of them were thanks to the old toys, but several were new to me and I had no idea what their deal was, or if they may show up on a cartoon somewhere. Well, if you know which archives to check, you may have seen some very similar characters in motion this week.
Do read on, and did you know Hasbro made a 52-episode cartoon series featuring Sean Astin - Frodo, Rudy, etc. - as the lead? And it was never officially released? And may have had a really good first episode?
This week:
Door to Door (Super Mario Bros. 2) - in which knock knock who's there Mario.
Hammer Hustle (Donkey Kong) - in which you get hammered.
Crumbling Crossing (Zelda II: The Adventure of Link) - in which a brdige is too far.
Beat the Heat (Super Mario Bros. 3) - in which it's summer in the desert.
Wizzrobe Warrior (The Legend of Zelda) - in which you prove magic is no match for cold steel.
It wasn't that hard to get the trophies, but hey, it's fun to zip through these. I honestly can't tell you the last time I bought a game that I was still playing a year later, even if it's just for a 20-30-minute challenge check-in. I got my money's worth here.
