Series 3 hit Toys R Us as of last night-- not all stores, of course, but I found 3-packs and the 12-pack for $3.99 and $9.99, respectively. Highlights include "Extra Crispy" (pictured) which I bought and will be featured here shortly.
Series 2 has been hitting Target stores, as reported earlier. I found 3-packs and the 12-pack for $3.99 and $9.99, respectively, today. The human, pink, not-undead figures started in series 2.
Friend of the site and nice dude Andrew let me know that Walgreens in some areas still have single Series 1 blind-boxes, and I have yet to see the series 1 3-packs, 12-pack, carry cases, or other sets in the wild. Entertainment Earth has/had many of these figures but it seems series 1 is gone. Which is, to say the least, disturbing. Will they show up in Target's Halloween section? Perhaps TJ Maxx? Kmart? I'm crossing my fingers.
Nice! Matty Sneak Peak at Granamyr Art from Rudy Obrero made the rounds! Rudy painted many original paintings in the 1980s line as well as the new Wind Raider's box art, so this is a real treat. You absolutely want to see it.
New to the PSP front this week: Growlanser: Wayfarer of Time. This Atlus RPG is $29.99. Based on the Google image search, it's rated T&A for Teens... and... uh... nevermind.

Metroid Samus Aran Figma Released, Sells Out Immediately?
So yeah, I didn't pre-order. This new figure came out and apparently sold out pretty nicely. The Metroid Other M Samus Aran Figma (scroll down for gallery) looks really cool and supposedly cost anywhere from $40 to $80, depending on your luck, so I'll be crossing my fingers for a second run on this one.
"The world has ended. There is no hope. No new beginning. Only the survivors. Deadlight follows the journey of Randall Wayne, a man searching for his family across Seattle during the aftermath of a 1980s event that has decimated life on earth. This visually stunning Cinematic Survival Platformer will challenge you to run, jump, climb, and struggle for your life as you look for answers and the ones you love."

Last weekend, Onell Design surprised us all by the first "mass" release of the Armorvor. But did you know hand-cast low-run awesome versions of this figure have been around for a few months now? It's true! The Glyos News Dump examines Jason Frailey's Cyber-Alligator Head which combines the awesomeness of a gator with an articulated lower jaw inspired by Mattel's famous Trap Jaw creation. It is beautiful, and just one of nearly a dozen heads we'll be looking at over the coming weeks. Do check it out, and be sure to nag Jason to consider a wide release of this head in PVC.
Be sure to send in your questions for next week's thrilling update!

At this time, it's not quite known for sure but all signs point to "probably." This thread has the post and some speculation but things are looking good-- or at least good enough-- for the line to continue as normal for 2013. 2014, who the heck knows. Odds are you'll know the answer as to what happened before we post an update late tonight!

Some stores are starting to receive Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Classic Collection action figures, first previewed at Toy Fair. Specialty comic stores reportedly got them a week or two back, I saw them at Toys R Us yesterday for $16.99 each, and depending on how you count they may actually have more than 34 joints per.
I got the set, and while they're all basically the same figure with new gear and a new head, they're really nice figures. You can order some at our sponsor/my employer or wait for a video I'll post as soon as it's ready.
It's gonna happen! Club Black Freighter, Club Eternia, and Club Infinite Earths made the goals! Rudy Surprisingly He-Man went from 90% of the goal to 130% of the goal overnight, so that ain't bad. Congratulations Mattel, ToyGuru, Count Marzo, and toy fans everywhere!
The winner of the Fan's Choice poll? Geldor, a barbarian character with an axe as sharp as his hair cut. I approve!

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Classic Collection Video by 16bit.com
After getting the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Classic Collection Action Figures last night, I worked my butt off to get out a quick video. Do you guys care about videos? These things take hours to edit down, plus my computer is old. I hope you like it!
They really are wonderful figures, particularly if you like higher-end American stuff and, of course, the animated incarnation of the green teens.
So in the world of collectibles, there are two really interesting things: expensive things, and cheap things. The Pop Culture Shock Collectibles Street Fighter Sagat Statue is an expensive thing. It's due in 2013, and it's $380. Of course, it's 21-inches tall, so these things aren't cheap to make or ship, and this statue does not appear to be remotely cheap in any sense of the word. The manufacturer posted more details including numerous photographs.

It was good enough for Mattel! The G.I. Joe Collector's Club has launched its subscription service which is open until September 4. A dozen pretty awesome figures are up for grabs, which is about $294 for the lot. For those keeping track, this makes it comparable to Masters of the Universe Classics via Matty Collector. Big Boa (pictured), Jinx, Nano BAT, Iron Klaw, and others are included so be sure to take a look around for shots before signing up.
Glyos Armorvor Video Review, Variant Too (FOTD Next Week)
Because scheduling is a tricky thing, this week's figures were all picked and written up a few weeks ago. Rather than rewrite and recode, we'll look at him in writing in about a week, but we can look at the video I made for the review early because why not?
It's nice. It's sold out, but recolors of the figure will be going on sale in a couple of months so I suggest you be prepared.
I should also note, the white furry head has an eye variant. Most figures have blue eyes, but one of mine was red. Read more about it here.

For $200 it's actually a really neat idea, because you get a full-size controller, a "docking station" that charges the portable and can connect it to a TV, plus the portable. If they made an NES, Genesis, or Super NES like this, don't tell me you wouldn't buy it.

The Glyos Transmissions Web Log posted a hefty story for us all today with Armorvor: History and Concepts. This really cool article shows off a number of Armorvor weapons which haven't been produced (yet at least) as well as detail the inspiration for the figure, who was involved in its birth, and even namechecks two other figures which were postponed to get him out first (Delphi, Noboto.)
...as much as I'm looking forward to a Delphi of my own, I think they made the right choice.

For starters, the legendary roadmap has been tossed out, and the emphasis is being shifted to more classic line figures, followed by Princess of Power/New Adventures/Filmation guys. Also, the $50 slot toy for 2013 will have four legs. Who else has their fingers crossed for a Bionatops?

Our pal Seth let us know about Terminator and Stargate SG-1 Best-Lock sets (like LEGO but not) and it turns out they're exclusive to Canada. He let us know about the Gateworld article Sears Canada selling Stargate construction brick toys and at the is time it seems there is no easy way to get them into the USA.
It is not known how Sears Canada is with their toys, as Sears USA has a rotten reputation of putting in toys which were not produced for sale on the site. Even though there are pictures, it may not be a bad idea to take the announcement with a grain of salt until someone gets them in-hand.
