Disgraced comedian Neil Hamburger launched a podcast! And I have a hard time explaining it. Feral Audio launched New Year's Eve hosted by Neil Hamburger. It's mostly music and I'm not sure if it's entirely original or a mix of obscure records... which is probably how it should be. If you're at all familiar with Neil Hamburger's act or the concept of a torture mix tape, you'll want to hear this.
They write: "Neil rings in the New Year with hit musical acts and a visit from Tom Jones. You won't want to miss our premiere episode."
As I type this I'm almost done with the first episode and, like the first time I saw Neil Hamburger on TV, I can honestly say I'm not completely sure what the takeaway is. But I'm having a good time.
Xbox fans, it's time to download Pid, a $10/800-point 2.5D-looking game which is named after a male body part, I'm pretty sure. (It's "pid" right?) Microsoft says:
"A young boy named Kurt finds himself stranded on a peculiar planet, and he must find his way home. Finding help from unlikely allies and the curious tools in his backpack, Kurt must use gravity-defying beams to conquer every platform and solve every puzzle on this strange journey. Featuring over 12 hours of action-adventure gameplay and fully-realized co-op, players are poised to experience a beautiful world set to an evocative soundtrack. With twenty-two different locations, dozens of foes and hundreds of secrets, Pid is like your world only different."
Also new: Pool Nation. It's $10/800 points, and answers the question "is pool more fun on a game system if there's a lot of bright backgrounds that obscure the pool table?"

Why is this ad here? I'm glad you asked. Doing this site and many others since 1995 has basically made me jack and squat. If you see an Amazon link on this page (or Google ad, or whatever) and click on it, that helps me. And if you buy something, anything, even better. Running these sites is effectively a second full-time volunteer job, so if you're going to buy something at Amazon or Entertainment Earth anyway, kindly click one of the links on this page and if enough of you do that, it might pay enough for a $5 combo at El Pollo Loco today. Thank you for your support.

I Love Glyos! This Onell Design Glyos Glyaxia Outer Battalion Glyan Action Figure has my favorite tampo on it, which is some Glyaxian Elite Command thing. But it reminds me of the Atari logo, so I love it and want it on a t-shirt. And I'll buy any figure they make with the symbol on it, so. So read on, read our Star Wars one too, and come back soon for more!
Because I Missed It: There's an Official Playmobil Collector's Club Site
So hey, this is cool. Playmobil launched a Playmobil Collector's Club Site about a month ago, showcasing some news and unique exclusive items like the Bamberg Horseman which is exclusive and was created for an anniversary of Bamberg's Cathedral.
I'm sure the world needs another fan community like a hole in the head, but hey, it's official! I never would have thought we would see one of those.

It's new! Target Exclusive Holiday Batman action figures are in stores (or are in the storeroom) right now. It's ugly, but I saw it out in the wilds today, and being lazy (and not carrying a camera) grabbed the photo from eBay. I can assure you, it doesn't look good in person either.

Xbox fans, it's time to download ToeJam & Earl, a $10/800-point collection of two classic Genesis games which I have never played. Microsoft says:

Now were they always this expensive? Costco has an exclusive Playmobil Forest Set and 5207 Transport Set! Each is $99.99, and you get a lot of junk in each box. The former has trees, critters, and a house while the latter has a plane, truck, and car. I won't say there's $100 worth of stuff in each box, but each box is selling for $100.

Friend-of-the-site Matt sent along a picture of this must-see, so-amazing, please-let-The Godbeast-cast-some Metroid Samus Aran Figure from Wonder Festival 2012 which you can't get. It's a limited edition, 3,000 yen, and probably long-since sold out. It's a "keshi" figure, which, to we ugly Americans, means it's like M.U.S.C.L.E. or S.L.U.G. Zombies mini-figures. Since it's a Wonder Festival released, that means it's probably technically not licensed for sale outside the show.
You can see it over at Zoomoth.com, after which you can cry like a woman (no particular woman.)
Beast Saga Dice Arena Video Review BS-14 from Takara Tomy
Sometimes we get a toy import and it's so great we feel bad that you, the American toy consumer, cannot get one. This is not one of those times. The Beast Saga Dice Arena BS-14 Playset is a substandard item at a superstandard price. It's about $60. And... watch the video. We done got snookered. Please watch/click on the ads so I can make Google pay me back for this terrible mistake 2 cents at a time.
Friend-of-the-site Nik informed us that Artist edition "Orange" OMFG! Series 1 "Stroll" is up for grabs at SpankyStokes.com for $5.00 plus shipping. These usually go pretty fast. Shipping's about $4.
Friend-of-the-site Matt sent also sent around tons of photos which we posted over at Imaginext Toy News because he's a super-cool dude. Three new posts await you today.
You can see Batman, Toy Story, and Planes over at Imaginext Toy News, and we'd like to really sincerely thank Matt for snapping pictures of these new (and new to us) toys! Thank you, good sir!
The first round of cut-offs for the Masters of the Universe Classics Castle Grayskull is at 11:59 PM tonight. If it reaches the goal, preorders will be open for a few more weeks. If not, it won't get produced.
At this point, it's close enough that it seems incredibly unlikely that the item will see production, but every order helps.

It's in Japan! While manufacturing-on-demand is nothing new, this Gizmag report 3D printing photo booth set for scan shows full-body statues made for as little as $264 in as little as 15 minutes. That's pretty amazing. Nothing like this is available in the USA yet, but it's a shoo-in for Comic-Con or Disney in the next few years.

Dragon Blaster! The Mattel Masters of the Universe Classics Dragon Blaster Skeletor figure is pretty fantastic, and the detail is exceptional. Regular Generations Bruticus is showing up at stores now, but it's about $75. Much cheaper? G2 Bruticus! It's all 5 figures for $59.99, with slick G2 logos and camo. Mine is en route so I'll probably do a week and change covering all three US flavors of Bruticus. G1 was at SDCC, a pastiche of styles is sold at retail, and this one is G2.

The Battle Beasts News Blog has news of Beast Saga Galleries from Japan: Rynas, DX Starter Set . These are hitting importers now, and include the first obviously female figure in the line. You can tell because of the pink hearts, high-heel shoes, and, apparently, boobs.
A new update! 1st packaged sample means production is almost ready! A Kickstarter post shows the first samples, with new, now purple packaging for the new figures. Series 1 hit homes in January, so you can probably expect to get a crack at these at some point in the next 60 days.

Those of you still sore over this year's high prices and subsequent fire sales may be glad to know this batch isn't priced all that bad. If you order before Tuesday, the trio is $50 shipped, a big savings over $65+shipping for the Beta Wave in October, and slightly better than $50+shipping for the Alphas in July. But still not as good as $25 on sale the other month. Not that we keep track of these things. Anyway, who else really wishes the gear were just silver?
