Star Wars Review: Imperial Remnant AT-RT Driver (The Vintage Collection)

Star WarsVia the Star Wars Galactic Hunter Figure of the Day Blog: Imperial Remnant AT-RT Driver (The Vintage Collection). This one is interesting - the arms, legs, and lower torso are basically just the Snowtrooper from last year. The helmet and chest look a lot like the Shoretrooper or any of a number of Rogue One-era Imperials. The walker itself is impressive, yet expensive. The gaps of the legs were filled with panels, with painted buttons and screens on the console. There's never been an AT-RT with more articulation, plus it has really amazing snowy gunk paint on the legs. And on the other hand, it's $68. Read the whole review.

Figure of the DayKenner Batman: The Animated Series Bane Action FigureSomething new every day-- unless it's old! Our exciting Figure of the Day continues for you lucky people! Is there anything we won't cover in this column? Probably not!

Old! The Kenner Batman: The Animated Series Bane Action Figure roamed the plains of North America in the 1990s, mostly congregating in herds in Kay-Bee Toy Store locations in shopping malls. They lifted their arms and had a switch that could activate an attack with their plastic metal girders. Today, you rarely see them, but they're still around.

Not recent! Playmobil "Fi?ures" 70025 Figures Mechanic has been around for ages, working quietly in the background. His jeans are painted with stitches, his shoes are red for some reason, and he's got a swell jacket. His tools are pretty good, too. If you need a guy to wrench on something in a garage, go get one of these if you can find it. Read on, and come back tomorrow for more fun!

Hasbro Cyberattacked

HasbroWell, that escalated quicklyVia Reuters: Hasbro investigates cybersecurity incident, takes some systems offline. A number of systems were taken offline, and it is not obvious yet what was taken, or who took it, or why.

As we're a toy site, I'm sure you're out there going "I bet it was the 2027 The Retro Collection offerings!" I'm wondering if it was to get into whatever they're doing for Magic: The Gathering. It hasn't seemingly impacted outward-facing operations, as a number of pre-orders continued to deploy without a visible hitch.

An egg to hunt! Mattel Hot Wheels Eggshelleracer has been showing up around town lately, I saw a few last night at a Dollar Tree. Thematically, it's the perfect car for this weekend. It has a spoon. The chassis is egg-themed, with wheels that look like slices of hard-boiled eggs. There are even little salt and pepper shakers on the back. It's too weird, I couldn't say no to it - there are even expiration date-like printings on the sides of the metal shell. Be sure to look for this one when you're out this week. Read on, and come back Monday for more!

From last year! Mattel He-Man and the Masters of the Universe Cartoon Collection Fang Man Action Figure is not quite as cartoon-accurate as the Classics model thanks to shared tooling with Reptilax, but it's pretty close. Ad, Sorta: Amazon Exclusive MOTU Movie Sky Sled

Masters of the UniverseSpeedyVia Amazon, ad/news: Masters of the Universe Vehicle & Figure 5.5 Inch Scale, Universe He-Man and Sky Sled Pack, 2026 Movie Accurate, Blaster & Projectiles (Amazon Exclusive). This a sponsored link, so I might get a cut of a sale if you click on it - but I'm posting it because it's surprising what you get for the money. $26.99 is a figure ($10 on its own) plus a small, bike-like vehicle with firing rockets. While not dirt cheap, it's rare to see any vehicles on the market. Mattel has been pricing its "core" kid product fairly reasonably, as this figure has jointed wrists, elbows, ankles, knees, and everything except ankles for an impulse price. I haven't decided what I'll pick up from the movie line yet - right now, I'm sitting back and just getting that Walmart Skeletor with the gold bits - but I could see buying a random other figure as an impulse purchase when they come out. Amazon also has a $37.79 4-pack with Goat Man that just sort of makes most of its competition look bad. I don't think there's a cheaper per-figure gift set anywhere near this size.

Classic Review: Hasbro Transformers Generations Grimlock

Figure of the DayHasbro Transformers Generations GrimlockSomething new every day-- but this was posted 10 years ago today! Our exciting Figure of the Day continues for you lucky people! Is there anything we won't cover in this column? Probably not!

Posted 10 years ago! From 2015, Hasbro Transformers Generations Grimlock did not get a lot of US distribution. The line showed up at Walgreens and Universal Studios, but has been generally scarce. As of today, I can't find one for sale online - you might actually be able to call it rare. It's not quite G1, or Robots in Disguise, or Age of Extinction, but it blends elements of various toys from that era. There's not much else like it, so I'd recommend giving it a look if you see one at a fair price. But since you probably won't see one at all, just enjoy the pictures. Do read on, and come back tomorrow for a new one!

Figure of the DayHasbro Transformers Studio Series 86 ScourgeSomething new every day-- unless it's old! Our exciting Figure of the Day continues for you lucky people! Is there anything we won't cover in this column? Probably not!

Recently reissued! The Hasbro Transformers Studio Series 86 Scourge is back in Target, at a higher price, and without the backdrop - but it's still a very nice toy. I didn't get around to reviewing the 2021 release, so let's do that now. He turns into a space boat. The robot mode has a swell beard. As a figure, it's pretty amazing - the fact that it transforms makes it genuinely impressive. Get one if you have the inclination. Read on!

Star Wars Review: Imperial Remnant AT-AT Driver (The Vintage Collection)

Star WarsVia the Star Wars Galactic Hunter Figure of the Day Blog: Imperial Remnant AT-AT Driver (The Vintage Collection). This one is really good, with no straps to get in the way of sitting in a vehicle. I'd love to see a TIE fighter pilot improved to the extent to which this guy has. The colors match your imagination's ideal AT-AT Driver, with white (not gray) armor and pretty bright markings. He's got a holster now too, the only thing missing is an AT-AT. The last one we got was the straight-to-clearance AT-ACT from 2016! At least ew got this guy. Clearly it's pilot season. Read the whole review.

Figure of the DayMcDonald's Changeables Kurtis the DivineSomething new every day-- unless it's old! Our exciting Figure of the Day continues for you lucky people! Is there anything we won't cover in this column? Probably not!

New! The McDonald's Changeables Kurtis the Divine certainly has a unique pose and name, which given last weekend's Easter celebration sure seems like someone is trying to say something. It's a grill that opens up and has a dinosaur inside. Does it make sense? No, but it's roughly scale to 3 3/4-inch figures if you need such a thing. And you probably do.

More Sega Figure Clearance at Walmart

SegaHere's The RageVia me on Bluesky at Walmart: Sega stuff on clearance at Walmart for three buckazoids. I bought the Altered Beast Werewolf which I assume I will enjoy more than the game. Already got Aiai a few weeks ago. While the sticker says "was $6.96," I'm pretty sure I never saw these below $10 prior to hitting the clearance rack, and series two has been in short supply. I picked up the Werewolf from Altered beast because it's hard to pass on a cheap monster toy, and $3.00 is rarely not worth it. And if you think I'm not going to buy a figure from the first game on a console emblazoned with "16-bit" on the box, you're mistaken.

Star Wars Review: Eleventh Brother (The Vintage Collection)

Star WarsVia the Star Wars Galactic Hunter Figure of the Day Blog: Eleventh Brother (The Vintage Collection). While due to appear on Maul: Shadow Lord, so far we've only seen this crow-like not-a-Sith in the streaming Tales shorts. He doesn't get to do much other than be menacing, so in a lot of respects he's a lot like Maul with his creepy facial markings, black costume, and generally imposing frame. As a figure, he's a guy in a black suit with a cape and claws - he's neat, but a variation on a theme we've been subjected to quite a bit over the past decade. The extra stitch in his cape does wonders for giving him a slightly better look, and the articulation is as good as a figure gets in this line these days. It's neat - if you have a connection to it. Review: Mattel Masters of the Universe Revenge of Skeletor Core Action Figure

Our exciting Figure of the Day continues and my hopes is it will encourage you to kick in $1 a month to the Patreon which funds hosting for 16bit.com and Galactic Hunter! Help me keep the servers on and the toy pictures a-rollin'.

New! Mattel Masters of the Universe Revenge of Skeletor Core Action Figure showed up at an actual Walmart in pretty good numbers before the pre-order on the web site, so I got one. Ten bucks? Sure. A certain kind of adult collector will tell you that this figure is no good because it lacks ankles. Aside from the lack of ankles, articulation is about the same as a typical Origins figure, so I would say it's a great place to start a new collection. There may be no real reason to start over with a new scale, but if you always wanted a goofy Skeletor or want to see what Mattel can deliver for ten bucks? This is an impressive little toy. Compare it to a Hot Wheels car, or a typical Hasbro figure, and I assume you'll appreciate the bend-and-swivel wrists and the generally good arm movement. If the only think he can't do is twist his ankles, I'd say this is a pretty exceptional deal and one other toymakers should emulate. There's no reason every figure needs to be $30, if you can make something "good enough" for $10. Read on!

Figure of the DayTootsietoy Dinosaurs StegosaurusSomething new every day-- but this was posted 10 years ago today! Our exciting Figure of the Day continues for you lucky people! Is there anything we won't cover in this column? Probably not!

Posted 10 years ago! From some point in the 1970s, Tootsietoy Dinosaurs Stegosaurus was something I'm pretty sure belonged to my dad and somehow wound up in my toy stash, but I am unable to confirm this. It's what kids had before Dino-Riders or Definitely Dinosaurs - a one-piece, no-articulation toy that's mostly h ollow. It's pretty cool, with a nice sculpt that's off-model and super weird by current dinosaur standards. But he has a thagomizer, and a head that looks more like a snake. It's distinctive, and it's one of those toys I'll probably never let go. Do read on, and come back tomorrow for a new one!

Hasbro Does Tron: Legacy Sans Crowdfunding

DisneyI'm the Dude, ManVia Hasbro Pulse: Tron: Legacy Identity Collection Figure 4-Pack and the Tron: Legacy Light Cycle Power Pack with 6" Sam Flynn are up for pre-order and are due in December. These aren't crowdfunds - Hasbro Pulse is selling them as straight pre-orders right now. Prices are a little higher than a typical 6-inch Disney-licensed Hasbro figure, but there do seem to be more parts and pieces plus slightly more extensive paint. Also, nobody else is making anything, so these probably look a heck of a lot more interesting.

For those keeping track, this entire collection is $99.99 for the Bike set, and $139.99 for the figure 4-pack, so it's $240 for 5 figures and a 6-inch scale bike. Not bad! The previous 3 3/4-inch set would have netted you 5 figures, 2 bikes, and a diorama display for $260. By pretty much every metric, the 6-inch collection seems like the better buy.

Newish! The Hasbro Transformers Studio Series MTMTE Collection Autobot Hot Rod is a Target exclusive that shipped last month, and it's nifty. Sure, it's a repaint of an older toy - but it's in cartoon-accurate magenta! He also has a few new accessories, making this arguably worth the asking price just for the parts. I like it. Star WarsVia the Star Wars Galactic Hunter Figure of the Day Blog: Imperial Remnant Snowtrooper (The Vintage Collection). This one takes last year's new Snowtrooper from The Empire Strikes Back, changes up a lot of the colors, and gives it a new, unmasked helmet. It's distinctive! It's not obvious that they're different colors without a side-by-side comparison, but I appreciate the differences and a new helmet and new colors is more than we usually get - so this one is neat. Recent! The ThrillJoy Pix! Steven Universe Vinyl Figure comes from a company with a lot of ex-Funko people on board. Revenge of Neo Geo - New Consoles Coming November

Video GamesHi DavidVia Neo Geo: Pre-Order Now - Out 12th November 2026. Four flavors of console - supposedly "modern" but original hardware, no emulation or FPGA - are coming along with 10 cartridges. They support standard definition connections to a CRT, but don't specify which ones, and include an HDMI cable. There are cartridges for about $100, controllers, a white version, and all sorts of pretty impressive stuff - but it's kind of unknown as to the build quality. Given the original hardware was around $700, this is much cheaper. Games are also much cheaper than vintage units. The big question is if the compilation CDs, FPGAs, emulators, and the rest are "good enough" for most people.

Mattel Turtles of Grayskull Masters of the Universe x Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Man-at-Arms Action Figure seems to have helped get Mattel the license for Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, along with the rest of the line. He has a shell shield and some swell armor, plus a staff that can hook up with Donatello's. I like this one, they did an especially nice job painting the face. Posted 10 years ago! From 2016, Hasbro Jurassic World Hybrid Velociraptor Action Figure was made by Hasbro. They let the license go! Can you believe it? Their loss. This was a nice, big green raptor with a light-up wound and gorgeous green shiny skin. Do read on, and come back tomorrow for a new one!

Review: Hasbro Transformers Retro G1 Deluxe Wheelie

Figure of the DayHasbro Transformers Retro G1 Deluxe WheelieSomething new every day-- unless it's old! Our exciting Figure of the Day continues for you lucky people! Is there anything we won't cover in this column? Probably not!

Recently released! The Hasbro Transformers Retro G1 Deluxe Wheelie is exclusive to Walmart, and I saw a few over the weekend. It's a new mold, it's bigger than the average Wheelie, and it's in toy colors. The figure has an actual head, rather than a head-in-the-belly, so it's sort of a mix of "cartoon" and "toy" designs. I think it worked out pretty well. Read on!

Star Wars Review: Airborne Clone Trooper (212th Battalion, The Vintage Collection)

Star WarsVia the Star Wars Galactic Hunter Figure of the Day Blog: Airborne Clone Trooper (212th Battalion, The Vintage Collection). This Walmart exclusive is actually showing up in stores, so keep an eye out for a closed-box two-pack with Obi-Wan Kenobi. Is it as good as the 2006 version? Well, it's not worse, but it's different. You may be happy with what you h ave, but if you don't have? This one has a more modern, skinnier sculpt with current articulation. Read the whole review.

Figure of the DayOnell Design Glyos Armorvor Standard Liocarrus Action FigureSomething new every day-- unless it's old! Our exciting Figure of the Day continues for you lucky people! Is there anything we won't cover in this column? Probably not!

New! The Onell Design Glyos Armorvor Standard Liocarrus Action Figure brings a new head and great coloring to the now venerable Armorvor body. It's a lion! It looks sort of like a pirate. I assume I know what this means for later, but for now? This is a very excellent figure.

Review: Playmobil "Fi?ures" 70125 Figures Cowboy

Figure of the DayPlaymobil Daily figure reviews return until I am too tired to want to keep doing it! Our exciting Figure of the Day continues and my hopes is it will encourage you to kick in $1 a month to the Patreon which funds hosting for 16bit.com and Galactic Hunter! My goal? $100 a month, which means I don't even get $3 per day to host this thing and pay to fix broken hardware. So how about a buck, Mac?

Not recent! Playmobil "Fi?ures" 70125 Figures Cowboy isn't from Django Unchained but came out a little bit after. Since Playmobil has made a not-Aeon Flux, not-Jurassic Park, and a lot of other similar-but-not figures, it feels like there may have been some inspiration there. And if I'm wrong? It's a great figure, and one of very few not-pasty cowboys in decades of western figure lines. The amount of paint on the pants and coat is unusually fancy. Read on, and come back tomorrow for more fun!

Walmart Puts MOTU Movie Toys Out Early

Masters of the UniverseSkeletorVia me on Bluesky: Walmart seems to be putting out the new Masters of the Universe stuff early. Check out the kid stuff, itŐs pretty cheap. Surprised to see wave 2 early.. Another Walmart put out the Chronicles figures too.

This gets into the argument of what is worth your money. The head sculpts on all figures look great and the range of articulation is very, very good even on the kid figures. The $10 kid figures have single-jointed elbows and knees, and no ankles. The $27 figures have those extra joints, plus alternate hands. So what would you rather have - a bigger guy with more joints, or 3 cheaper guys that take up a little less room? I'm currently on team "cheaper." Prove me wrong, world that wants to overpay for the "best" option even though it won't do them much good.

Some stores are also putting out the Revenge of Skeletor figures again, and he's also $10 with the same basic buck as the new movie guys. I don't know why I find these so appealing, and also, I am hesitant to start up yet another style. But they do look like fun.

Star Wars Review: Funko Luke Skywalker (Bitty Pop! Arcade Display)

Star WarsVia the Star Wars Galactic Hunter Figure of the Day Blog: Funko Luke Skywalker (Bitty Pop! Arcade Display). Normally we don't look at non-Hasbro items here, but I think this one was too interesting to skip. This set includes a tiny Luke figure with pixel-esque deco, and a tiny plastic box for him, plus a small arcade cabinet loosely inspired by 1980s designs. The cabinet itself is about right, the stick is different, and the graphics seem to be wholly original (but inspired by things you might have seen back then.) It's neat! If they made ones that matched Atari art, I'd buy those too. The cabinet is sized to fit with Funko Pop! Vinyl figures or most 2 3/4-inch scale figures, which all have roughly the same size body. I'm not saying to start a new collection, but this is a great little toy for eight dollars. I've seen them in Target, online, and in some indie toy shops. Read the whole review.

You can deal with that now! Blokees Transformers Defender Version 06 Brutal Fang Ultra Magnus Action Figure is a little guy, and he's pretty great. No, he's not a giant combinable armored robot that turns into a carrier - but the colors are good, the joints are nice, and the details are pretty much what you'd want for something the size of a classic Battle Beasts figure. Read on, and come back Monday for more!

Old! Mattel He-Man and the Masters of the Universe Cartoon Collection Spikor Action Figure showed up a couple of years ago, but I like it so let's look at it. He's less ugly that the toy-faced figure, and for Spikor fans there's a new 2026 movie-style Origins figure on the way. But this one comes in eye-popping colors with distinctive accessories based on a cartoon from 40 years ago, so this is the one I want the most. He has a trident hand, plus a spare regular hand too. Should you get it? Well, I think so. Read on!

Classic Review: Sonic Drive-In Mario & Luigi Paper Jam Mario

Figure of the DaySonic Drive-In Mario & Luigi Paper Jam MarioSomething new every day-- but this was posted 10 years ago today! Our exciting Figure of the Day continues for you lucky people! Is there anything we won't cover in this column? Probably not!

Posted 10 years ago! There are brand-new Mario Happy Meal toys at McDonald's, but a decade ago we were getting things like Sonic Drive-In Mario & Luigi Paper Jam Mario It's a weird one - a three-dimensional, flat figure with a paper bad guy to fight. It's an actual activity with a play feature, which we don't see much of in a lot of character toys these days. Do read on, and come back tomorrow for a new one!

Welcome to Toy Aisle Reset Season

ToysCar-o-ramaVia me driving around: Walmart has this Adventure Force car set for five bucks and change. While Target hasn't reset its aisles as of my visits on Sunday, Walmart has been very busy over the last week. One store has a big Star Wars display with clothes, Blokees, and even popcorn buckets - not something I tend to see in stores. I would say less than half have started to stock Masters of the Universe Movie toys so far, and they tend to only be showing up at the bigger stores. As such, you may need to check a few places or shop online if you want to see these. I picked up a Mekaneck and am pretty impressed with it as a $10 action figure. It seems like now is a good time to visit a Walmart if you haven't lately, and I assume Target will be setting up their aisles in the coming week.

Unlike bigger Star Wars and Marvel launches, street dates seem increasingly ignored - Walmart will put things out early if they feel like it, while Target tends to put things out later as time allows. Online shops tend to adhere to the dates, because that is a lot easier to control with their back-end software. As usual, you can also pick stuff up in a store that has inventory but has not yet set the shelf space.

I would say it's been a particularly eventful month, with new action toys showing up more frequently than usual. Sure, Transformers are hard to get, but what's new about that?

Star Wars Review: Imperial Remnant Stormtrooper (Replaced shin and shoulder, The Vintage Collection)

Star WarsVia the Star Wars Galactic Hunter Figure of the Day Blog: Imperial Remnant Stormtrooper (Replaced shin and shoulder, The Vintage Collection). He has two bits of replaced armor, and some of the best dirty/damaged deco I've seen at this size. I was really impressed by this set, especially as Hasbro found a way to make each trooper a tiny bit different - that's really cool. I think it's a set you might want one or two of, and one where I might buy a second set. Read the whole review.

Figure of the DaySuper7 Micronauts Force Commander ReAction+ FigureSomething new every day-- unless it's old! Our exciting Figure of the Day continues for you lucky people! Is there anything we won't cover in this column? Probably not!

Recent! The Super7 Micronauts Force Commander ReAction+ Figure shares a body with Baron Karza and Emperor - but with a twist. He has a new head, and he's bright white! It's based on a classic 1970s toy that you probably don't have, so you can enjoy it as a 3 3/4-inch figure with an o-ring build instead of as a giant with magnetic connectors. I dig it. I think you might too.

Not recent! Playmobil "Fi?ures" Figures Artist / Painter reminds me of my elementary school art teacher, so obviously, I think sh e's great. She has a smock coat thing going on, a colorful sweater, curly red hair, and jeans. The deco is deployed nicely and she just looks like a great little figure.
