New Venture Bros. Action Figures - Alchemist, Shore Leave
|
While you may have heard of them before, the preorders for The Venture Bros. Shore Leave and Alchemist Action Figures are now up and ready to be, uh, preordered. (And yes, this is through my employer, so kindly order many please.) These guys are due September next year, meaning, uh, you've got plenty of time to make room on your toy shelves for them. Sphinx!
What's more, Amazon has Season 4 of Venture Bros. on Blu-Ray for $22.99, which is actually pretty good - it rarely dips below $30ish. If you buy it through this handy link, we get something like $1.15, which is more than we had yesterday.

G.I. Joe: Next Convention - Indianapolis
|
An announcement! G.I. Joe Con 2013 will be in Indianapolis and not in Pawnee, like many of us were petitioning. "Because it does not have adequate facilities nor does it exist" is hardly an acceptable excuse.
I think today's secret word is "Night Force."

Transformers: Next Convention - San Diego
|
An announcement! BotCon 2013 will be in San Diego and not in in the midwest, as Dow Jones and the Industrials once said "Can't Stand the Midwest." Good choice on their part.
The theme has already been confirmed as "Machine Wars," and sounds like it'll be an extrapolation of the already small post-G2 line sold as a Kay-Bee exclusive in around 1996.

Toys R Us stores in the USA are starting to get 2013 Playmobil Dinosaurs now. There are 6 sets with a mix of new and old designs, and far fewer figures than the previous sets. They're also a heck of a lot more expensive than the last round from a few years ago.
The Dimetrodon and Stegosaurus stand out as the cheapest of the new ones. There are hatching eggs and new environmental pieces as well.

Transformers Generations Soundwave, Discs Hitting
|
They're here! Transformers Voyager Soundblaster and Soundwave plus Legends Ravage/Rumble and Frenzy/Ratbat [affiliate link] are hitting American Toys R Us stores now. Voyagers are $22.99 each, while the disc 2-packs are $10.99 per. They seem to be pretty widespread.
If you want my advice, get Soundwave or Soundblaster first. The tapes, while tempting, aren't all that much fun once you get them out of the box, with Buzzsaw/Laserbeak as the best of them. Since TRU.com doesn't have them up yet, you can click the link above to pre-order a box from our sponsors at Entertainment Earth if you're so inclined.

Target Slug Zombies Clearance - 30% Off
|
They're going! Slug Zombies figures are on clearance at Target stores in the USA right now. Selection varies by store, with prices 30-50% off and series 2, 3, 4, and Christmas available. I just picked up a Series 4 Tombstone 12-pack on Sunday afternoon for $6.98, cheep.
I still don't know how/where to get series 1, and so far Target is the only place anyone has seen the Christmas ones. If you like MUSCLE-style figures, keep an eye on these. They may get cheaper, or they may vanish completely!

LEGO Friends - Worst Toy of the Year?
|
Who loves a good Internet argument via the media?
While I haven't bought any sets myself from this line yet, I'd like to point to a nifty article at The Brothers Brick. The first year of LEGO Friends worst toy of the year? explores some of the recent year-end hubbub about the line, which has not exactly had an even reception across buyers, retailers, and so forth.
It's an interesting read with links to lots of other opinions. It's always tough to judge any toy line by its first year offerings, as you really don't get a strong idea as what a line will be until it looks like it might have a legacy. (Unlike Clickits.) Anyhoozles, in lieu of me writing more content, just go read that and enjoy.

Four Horsemen Glyos Power Lords Happening, Banimon Drop
|
Exciting! Press Release: The Power Lords Return! has a whole mess of information on the new line, although there aren't too many specifics yet. Glyos-compatible Four Horsemen figures based on the classic line (which I didn't grow up with) are indeed coming!
If you missed the figures from the last drop, the fact that there's a Banimon Drop Live Now should get you excited! They're really fun mini figures and are $7 each. I ordered the red one because it's colored like a soda I enjoy called Leninade. Lots of all 3 styles remain, so go ahead and get one.

Especially in light of the fact that Nintendo Power's last has made its rounds and this sort of thing is sort of a relic at this point.
